Unique and very cute!
I have been eyeing this toy for a while and finally decided to buy it for my son’s first birthday. I wasn’t sure what “lacing” sheep was, but it seemed interesting so I took a chanceProduct quality 5/5: excellent craftsmanship, beautifully and articulately done. The wood is smooth, sturdy, and not that cheap particle board crap that I have found a competitor’s products to made from (Melissa & Doug). Creativity: 5/5. It turns out that a Lacing Sheep is basically a puzzle. It is a logic puzzle using colors. My 4 year old was able to understand it and put it together. I like it. Logical exercise. My son is 1 and it is too complex for him. I kind of knew that— I bought it because I thought it was cute.Packing: 5/5 100% sustainable packaging, excluding the plastic sleeve amazon shipped it in (Shame on you, Amazon!).Plantoys is becoming my favorite toy company. Not only are the toys they make high quality and creative, they ecologically conscious from start to finish. I was looking at their website, and they really seem to treat their employees well. I would support this company any day. I’ve been SICK of the cheap garbage manufactured in China. I would pay more for sustainable, creative and high quality toys that Plantoys has to offer. Keep it up, Plantoys!!

Lovely and wel-loved
We gave this to our then 7-month old a couple months ago. She's only just beginning to experiment with actually stacking the rings, but it's been a favorite since day one. She loves pulling the rings off, rolling the ball-like top piece around, and so on. This is often the first toy she grabs from her basket. Two months in, I'm very pleased with the quality. Baby is teething and very mouthy right now, but the rings look good as new. And we haven't noticed any color transfer to the baby (although the center pole does show a minor amount of color transfer). Plus, the whole toy just feels nice and solid to me. Very pleasant to handle.Keep in mind this a not a self-correcting toy--that is, you can stack the rings in any order. That's a plus for me, but I know some schools of thought disagree. And make sure you look at the dimensions. It was smaller than my spouse expected. (My picture shows how it compares to baby hands.) No concerns about choking hazards or anything, but it is smaller than some of the plastic versions you see in stores. But the baby and I agree that this is one excellent toy.

Great ring stacker- lots of ways to play with it!
This is such a nice ring stacker. It's true that it's a bit smaller than the plastic Fisher Price one but that's a good thing- for my nearly 7 month old it makes it easy to grasp all the pieces. There are so many ways to play with this toy and in fact my little one most enjoys playing with the base the rings stack on! He loves that thing, gestures around wildly with it like a baton! The colors are vivid and there's a slight wood grain visible. Packaging for this item is very nice and appropriate for gift giving. This would be a good toy for someone who appreciates simple toys without a lot of bells and whistles and it's also seemingly pretty eco friendly. If you have hardwood floors, you can spin the rings around like a dreidel to delight your baby! Or have the rings roll away! You can also stack the rings up without the base and the top red ball part is especially fun as it's always rolling away and challenging my son to follow its path as it leaves the area! I believe the packaging says ages 2+ which I'm guessing is mainly because if you have a new walker they could trip and fall onto the base of this item. So, use appropriate supervision. This has been a hit in our household from 5 months on and he is not tiring of it!

I'm amazed at how wonderfully and creatively my little guy plays ...
I really can't say enough about Plan Toys! I got the stacking tree thinking it would be a "for the future" purchase, and too difficult for my 11 month old. And in some ways, it is - it's meant for older kids, certainly. The top two pieces are also small enough to be a potential choking hazard, so we put them in a drawer for later.Still, I'm amazed at how wonderfully and creatively my little guy plays with this! He is already trying to stack, and practicing his dexterity (the holes are small), but he also uses this toy in conjunction with our other plan toys: the sorting cone, the pounding bench, and the xylophone. A lot of the long pieces in the Plan Toys sets are the same diameter, and semi interchangable. He threads tree pieces on the pounding bench hammer handle or xylophone stick, puts tree pieces in the pounding bench holes, puts parts of the stacking cone on the tree trunk. We also spin pieces like tops on the table, or swivel them threaded on a stick for him, which he is fascinated with, and tries to imitate. These are really superb toys, very well made, with a lot of open ended play possible. It's not just a tree! I heartlily recommend this, as well as the stacking cone and pounding bench!

Great wood stacker option!
My 14 month old loves this toy! We had a plastic ring stack before and he liked taking the rings off and holding them, but he never tried putting them back on. I showed him how, but he never seemed to get it. I just assumed he didn't have the coordination yet. I gave this wooden one to him this morning and within 30 seconds he started stacking the rings back on! Lots of concentration. Very proud of himself! I think it helps that the rings are smaller than our plastic version and he can hold the entire ring across with one hand. None of the pieces are choking hazards and are rather light for wood. I also appreciate the collapsible pole, as I was a little concerned about him falling on it. All of the pieces are finished nicely and completely smooth, including the top of the pole. I am in the process of gradually replacing all of our plastic toys with wood ones, and I am thrilled with this purchase!

Lovely Size and good quality. Very pleased
A really lovely good quality wooden toy. The pieces have a lovely glossy finish and are all a good size for little people's hands. Even though my daughter is too young to stack the pieces, she still enjoys the toy!

Lovely wooden toy
The color of the wooden stand is not the same as in the pictures, other than that its perfect, well made and sturdy. Worth the money.

Beautiful and engaging
This is one of the favourite puzzles of my 20 months old. He loves placing them and started saying big and small when comparing the pieces. It is also beautiful when completed and adds beauty to his room.
