Crash the Chatterbox: Hearing God's Voice Above All Others

Don't get caught in the trap of the mega church. I said I'd never attend one and somehow because I had some friends that went to Elevation, I ended up there too. Such a mistake. It's just a franchise not a church. Big money. Good luck getting to know anyone unless you join a small group if ya can find one that fits your life and schedule. Good luck in that small group meeting any real Christians. They're all being taught lies....so.... Fake! And It's a store right when ya walk in. Buy shirts, CDs, cups and books galore. Enjoy the "experience" as they call it. Light show and music so loud you feel you're at a concert. Sound fun ya think? Well it's just a distraction from God. All to get you hyped to praise Steven Firtick. They literally cheer for him. What about Jesus? Jesus deserves the praise. Ridiculous. He is all about making himself famous and rich. The congregation does very little to help the community and if anyone within the church needs help...forget it. So where is the money going? Seen his house? When I heard Pastor Furtick and some guest speakers using the Lords name in vain and a demon that referred to Jesus as a "Savage" I was DONE! They will pay for disrespecting God. The bible warns us of false prophets and false teachers who do these sorts of things. Wake up people. Don't listen to this man! Discernment!*Oh the book. I left the church so it was thrown away. Bunch of smooth talk mixed with very little scripture throughout. The bible tells us false teachers tell what tickles the ears.

When your toxic thoughts try to control your life — read this book!
If we have 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts a day, then I probably have double that amount. I am ALWAYS in my head, thoughts swirling like a merry-go-round going 200 miles a second. I kid you not. I have random thoughts, good thoughts, relaxing thoughts. I also have endless monologue in my brain about a variety of subjects, most of which I never vocalize to anyone. Some of those thoughts come out on my writing, while I store away others for future use. And then there are the bad thoughts, the negative ones. Self-condemnation. Lies the enemy tries to inject into your brain. More self-condemnation. Then there are those thoughts you don’t delve into too deeply, and you self-implode. The result? A fight with a loved one or with a colleague or —CRASH THE CHATTERBOX is such a relatable book. We all go through these things. We ALL do. Christians go through it because there’s that constant battle in your mind — the one that could make you or break you. Steven Furtick describes this in painful and on-point detail. He even opens up about his most destructive bursts of rage and how his bottled-up thoughts brought him to breaking point. His solution? Go to God with all of your thoughts, good or bad. Cry out to Him. One of the biggest lies we tell ourselves is that God will disapprove of us if we’re anything less than perfect. No one’s perfect, so why pretend to be? I am in an area in my life where I no longer hide my emotions, fears or insecurities from God. At some point, I will probably mess up and my thoughts will have a lot to do with that. So whether or not you’re a Christian, the best approach is to purge those thoughts. I enjoyed reading this book, or any book in which it exposes the complexities of the human condition. Downsides? The tiny font. Couldn’t the publishers make it larger? And the book should’ve delved deeper into some things. Instead we get a lot of information about how Furtick has to filter his answers during his interviews. Great read otherwise. Four out of five hazelnut iced home brewed coffees!

I didn't have too much hope that it would help because she has tried so many other things like retreats, programs
I gave this book to my daughter who has serious problems that this book deals with.. I didn't have too much hope that it would help because she has tried so many other things like retreats, programs, counseling etc. I was overjoyed to hear her excited response that this was the best book she had ever read on the subject. She has greatly improved already and just from one reading of this book. I therefore can heartily recommend this book to all who suffer in this manner. I must add that I do not necessarily endorse any other of Mr. Furticks writings or ideas. He seems to be a mixture of good and not so good, scriptural and not so scriptural. But this review is for this book only and I do say it is very good.

OK
It was an OK book; however nothing life-changing for me. I've read other better books on the internal critic.

Best book after the Bible I have read all year
I got this book and have read it very slowly. It has taken months. Every Time I have picked it up it has blessed and surprised me. I have recommended it to everyone. Read every word carefully and slowly and it has been a life changing blessing to me as the Holy Spirit has ministered through it.

Being relentless, no matter what
This book deals with an issue everyone experiences in life_ disappointment, discouragement and defeat. It provides a way through to hope and fulfillment.

Crash The Chatterbox, Indeed (does what it says on the tin)
I loved this book. There are so many particle things that I applied to my life. I referred to it so much that my book is unrecognisably. Gone are the days of the white cover. This book really helped my to understand my chatterbox and how to investigate the thought path.
