Satisfied
Purchased this 3255 contractors model to replace a 2265-67 professional model that was installed originally in 2004 .. I was very satisfied, really quick 2 day delivery. Quick and easy removal and installation of the motor head all screws and connectors were identical. Programming was a little challenge primarily because the manual did not clearly show the learn button sequences and they were physically hard to see, received a better view from the website and was able to get the thing programmed. Overall I’m satisfied

Great- but a minor issue surfaced
Fit perfectly. The automatic setup for travel and torque was outstanding. The myQ app was easy and worked perfectly. I sent an invite to my wife and it installed just as easily. I replaced both of our 12 year old openers so these comments apply to both. No difference . Very pleased.Update 3/26/2024- I have intermittent issues with one opener not closing all the way but going back up. I think it is a torque setting too sensitive but this is the down side of automatic settings I guess.

Garage Door Opener.
Direct fit for my 17 year old Liftmaster. Package came promptly and in good condition. Negative issues are the MyQ ap. and remote programming. I created an account but get nothing but the wheel of death after logging in.Tried everything trying to log in but no luck. Also could not program my old remotes. Other than that the opener works well.

good replacement for my broken 3255 model
Disconnected the wiring from the broken 3255, unbolted the rail, removed the 3255 from it support brackets. Bolted the new 8165 to the support brackets and rail. Reconnected the wires and then had to "train" the 8165 for stopping points for fully open and fully closed positions. Did the 2x4 test, it passed. Also had to replace the old 3255 wall control switch with the supplied switch for the 8165 unit Estimated it took me about one hour to do the entire job.

Easy to install and great quality opener
First, this is simply a replacement for your existing motor. You'll need to have an existing rail and chain. The unit has hardware, safety eyes, one remote, and a mounted switch. The only downside is that there isn't an installation manual in the box, but you can easily find one online. It took me 30 minutes to mount this, including removing my old unit and connecting this new one. I used all the existing wiring which took longer because I had to strip them all. This uses the push style connections which are more fickle than the screw ones in my experience. The only problem I had was that I didn't set my limits prior to trying it. I was getting an error that the eyes were not aligned or there was a short. But the receiver was glowing green so I knew it was good. Only after installing the app did I see that the unit thought it was in the opposite position it was in. Adjusting the limits solved the problem So use the app.The other downside is the app isn't compatible with siri or google home. But it's not a deal breaker.

Works great!
The media could not be loaded. A lightening storm fried our current lift master opener. We bought this one. After reading reviews we were expecting a 4 hour job. This one literally was a direct bolt in to our old one. Took my husband 45 mins to get up and running. Uses our current sensors and everything. Very happy with our purchase.

Arrived 6 days late with damaged parts
Package was received 6 days after promised April 4th.There are problems with the Liftmaster 8165.The wall control panel (see picture 1) has many clear scratches on it, as if it is a used one.The black plastic cap (see picture 2) to the chain gear has a broken clip on one side, damaged, cannot be used. I had to pay extra $80 to a local installer so that they could install the door opener.

Easy to install
Opener arrived early which was fine. Easy to install and setup.Just read the instructions and follow them. You will need to use the included wall switch and remote. I had to order a separate remote as it only comes with one. When setting the down force for the door, stop about an inch from the floor.Great videos on YouTube.
