Pfister9740420 Pressure Balanced Valve Cartridge Sub Assembly

Replace an old Price Pfister two piece cartridge that had a slow leak. Easy swap and works well. Not necessarily a con, but this has a much shorter throw than the old cartridge.

Came wrapped tightly in a transparent plastic wrap and did not look like it was really made by Pfister (I would imagine a much better packaging from the parent company!). It felt fragile and made of flexible cheap plastic which gives the impression that it could break anytime. Surprisingly, this thing worked like a charm. I've had it installed for several weeks now and I no longer hear that crazy dripping sound from the older leaky cartridge. What a relief.One more thing to emphasize that this piece is replacing two original pieces which are now combined in one. I have no idea why didn't they think of this earlier! It makes much more sense to have just one long piece which minimizes the O rings that you'd have to worry about otherwise.The original inserts lasted for about 17 or 18 years. I figured even if this one lasts 3 or more years then I'm fine with it. Just something that may need maintenance until you change the whole faucet eventually.

Easy installation and so glad we can now control the water temperature! No noise and no leaks. Cheaper price to boot!

I just happened to come across this product while looking for the older 2 piece version. It is half the price of the 2 piece version. I did install it upside down initially (hot/cold were switched), but it took less than 5 minutes to correct. Hope it lasts as long as the original....

I bought this because my shower was dripping and had little to no hot water.It took 10 minutes to remove old and install new one.So far so good.No more dripping and I got nice hat water.

I had replaced the original cartridge that lasted more than 18 years about 2 years ago with a cartridge made by another company (MOEN). It was much stiffer to turn the handle and lasted a little less than 2 years. It started making the pipes vibrate or shake when set at certain temperatures (the hotter the worse). Since I've installed this PFister cartridge, it is very easy to turn and I have no more pipe vibration or shaking. It was very easy to install and so far I am very very satisfied with this cartridge. Would definitely recommend.

El cartucho ensamblo perfectamente.

I needed the Oval holes, not the circular ones, one the cartidge assembly as my Valve body had oval holes on the inside. This ad didnt show a picture of which it had so I took a chance, it was the oval, and it works perfectly!
