101 Harley-Davidson Twin Cam Performance Projects (Motorbooks Workshop)

Well worth the investment
I liked this book very much and am using it as a guide for the work I am doing on my own 2000 Road Glide. It is nicely organized, printed on high quality paper, and with excellent illustrations. The instructions for the projects it described are very good and easy to follow. You will still want a workshop manual to get you started on some of the major work, as it picks up the project at some point after the initial preparations and removal of items like fairings, gas tank, exhaust systems, etc. have been done. Otherwise, it tracks well with the Harley service manual on the steps that are the same. I also like that several options for making changes or upgrades are offered for many of the projects, and a nice table gives you an idea of cost, mechanical skill required, and other things you might want to do at the same time you are executing this project. You also get a recommendation of sources for aftermarket parts, often with more than one source indicated. I highly recommend this book if a) you need to correct a Harley design deficiency; b) want to make a performance upgrade that is not a straightforward change such as a slip-on muffler or air cleaner insert; c) want to make a major change to the engine or drive train. This book now resides on my workshelf and will stay there as long as I own my Twin Cam 88.

I'm Glad I Bought It
Helpful, informative, I'm glad I bought it. I especially like the little boxes at the start of each project that describe the time, tools, talent, cost, tips, gains, and complementary modifications needed or useful. This book gave me the courage to tackle a project I might have dodged and to avoid projects that were over my head. I only wish it were a little larger, say . . . 202 projects?

Decent book to add to the collection.
Entertaining book and very few clever shortcuts. If you have a shop manual this is only slightly worth having. But it’s a good book and gives a novice an idea of the scope of work.

Great Reference
Great information and reference material. I've already learned several great things I'm going to do to my bike. I've even diagnosed a couple of issues that had the dealer stumped. If you have a twin cam this is a must have.

Decent Book
A Decent book, kind of outdated in terms of material.. written for a novice and very basic... Definately a decent read for someone with little to no experience in Harleys.

but it certainly looks like it covers anything I'll ever want to work on ...
Loads of information in this book! I had an older one for a Sportster that came in handy many times. I haven't had a chance to put everything in this Twin Cam one to use yet, but it certainly looks like it covers anything I'll ever want to work on and then some. Fairly easy to follow, with lots of great ideas.

Great technical info for newbies to experienced Harley owners
I really appreciate the span of technical articles in this book. Has everything from changing oil to installing cams and improved gearboxes. Well illustrated and written in plain English. Highly recommend this as a good read for any Harley twincam owner.
