Penguin Readers Level 3: The Great Gatsby (ELT Graded Reader): Abridged Edition

My son who is reading below grade level used this book as a modified text for the original paperback his high school English class was reading. I especially liked the questions for comprehension and glossary that are included.

I am an ENL high school teacher and finding accessible books for high school entering students is extremely difficult. the AP english class at my school reads The Great Gatsby and I wanted my English language learners to be exposed to this type of text as well. with this book they have been so successful!!!!

I actually bought this for my high school students who are reading extremely below grade level. This way they can read the story independently and get the main details of the novel. Obviously some details aren’t in this book, but it can easily be supplemented.

I recommend this book because it is easy to read and the events are naturally happening. The story is full of mysteries and I appreciated the fact that there are lot of exercises and also a glossary at the end.
