My husband bought this and really liked it. Its easy to understand and influenced his thinking. Great for self improvement.

I have purchased this book three times and gave two copies to female friends who will hopefully read it from start to finish. This is a very old book published in 1952 when the world was a very different place, but it is filled with timeless wisdom and principles that can still benefit anyone today who will make an effort to read its pages. In today's 21st century world of negative energy, hate and division gone mad, the golden wisdom offered by Norman Vincent Peale is needed now more than ever before. If you are a christian, this book is a must-have for your coffee table as bible verses are included in every chapter. For non-christians who may be put off by the religious slant of the book, there is still helpful advice and wisdom within these 17 chapters that can impact your mind in a positive way. You don't have to be a church-going christian to benefit from the words of nourishment this fine book provides.Rock and roll legend Carl Perkins was one of several famous people who read this book years ago and gained much wisdom from it. Delivered in a timely fashion, older but nice clean copy. I have given away many copies of this book over the years, and this one is for my grandson. Timeless.

I was a freshmen (1952) when NVP's book "The Power of Positive Thinking" was published. I certainly understand why his books remain to this day so popular. I've been reading a number of Donald J. Trump's books. He mentions Norman Vincent Peale time and again. I see how he has achieved becoming a billionaire, and his family is unquestionably the most balanced family I have ever seen in my long life! I wondered "How has he done it?" So, I purchased this book.Was I ever amazed because it seemed not only could I see things Donald Trump has done on ever so many of these pages, it is as though Dr. Peale had written this book specifically for me and spoke the contents to me in the spirit of my mind. Without reading this book previously, but also fervently researching Scripture from the Christian Bible, over the past 45 years I've applied many of the very same techniques and who I was before, is long gone, and I am now a most healthy, most happy, most peaceful and contented person. I require no medications. I simply enjoy life and know I truly do have perfect peace.I also learned new things, which I immediately put into action. I already knew I could talk with my subconscious and get him to stop giving me pain. But, I didn't know I could talk to my brain. So, I did. Pg. 140: Put your dependence upon the ‘emergency powers of the human brain.’ When you call upon your human brain to take action, it awakens itself and delivers extra power if needed. (NOTE: I just talked to my human brain and told him to “do your work.” Immediately I felt a flood of power cascade throughout my body!) WOW! Want to activate your body? Talk to it. Wow! It is achievable to win success in all things, change lives, and overcome ALL obstacles! These astonishing results can be achieved simply by using faith and optimism as your road map to positive thinking and acting. What is also so neat is that if someone, say on Facebook challenges a position I have, I'll respond Norman Vincent Peale says exactly the same thing on Page xxx of The Power of Positive Thinking. Or, they might challenge me saying, "What do you mean God talks with you?" I'll refer them to another page in this book.Power of Positive Thinking,In my opinion, when you apply the principles outlined in these 17 chapters, you will be a changed person and ever so much more happy and more accomplished! I will always treasure this resource, and I'm glad Donald J. Trump follows these principles to a "T."

I enjoyed the many examples of how the author used scriptures over and over to illustrate the miracles he was describing. Thought I appreciate the direction of the book, focusing on miracles, I would have like to read some stories where there were no happy ending but folks kept trying, kept serving God anyways. The Bible is filled with faith stories, but also a lot of stories with sad endings. 11 of the apostles were massacre, so as be!ievers, we must also highlight faith like the three Hebrew boys had. If I don't get a blessing, I will still serve him. Now that too is miraculous thinking!
