Master Lock704DPF 4-1/2-Inch Security Hasp, Silver|Metallics

I bought this product because my girlfriend was having some trouble with her sisters, they would "borrow" her clothes/shoes without asking for permission they would sneak in to her room and open the closet, after weeks of dealing with her frustration I decided to do something about it, I found this on amazon and decided to install it before her parents got home from work. Easy installation it took me about 7 minutes it attached easily and it does not look bad on the closet sliding door. My girlfriends clothes/shoes are now safe from her sisters, the problem now is they are mad at her and won't talk to her. Would definitely recommend to anyone trying to keep a closet safe.

I would have given this item a rating of 2 if I didn't have replacement screws on hand. I was robbed of my Specialized bicycle a few weeks prior to buying this item. I was impressed by the lock at first glance. The metal of the hinge and latch are very sturdy and well designed for the price of the item buy this is not the case for the screws that hold the set together. As I started to drive in the screws with my battery powered driver into wood there was a lot of unusual resistance at first. A little more than half way into the wood the head of the screws sheared off. Every screw in the set did this which defeats the purpose of sturdy lock if it can be yanked off the wall. Anyways, I have some spare screws in a box somewhere and they screwed in like a charm. I actually drilled right over the broken screws with ease. If some quality screws came with this lock I would have given it 5 stars.

When closed, it covers the screws so that it can't simply be unscrewed, which is a fault with a surprising amount of padlock systems. My only complaint is that the eyelet is not very heavy duty, so it could be cut through pretty easily. But again, this is a common fault with padlock systems. Often the strongest lock is not an issue because thieves will simply work around the lock.

Looks like the same one I had to cut off. fairly good deal, not as good as I had hoped but it's a 4 star no doubt.

I use this on a large cabinet in my classroom. It covers the screws which is a necessity and allows for any average size lock to fit through the loop. It installs easily and comes with all the necessary hardware. Great cabinet lock.
