It’s great and packable
It’s great with colorful illustrations and smaller than I had expected so much easier to tote. 🤗

Wonderful book and a great way to discover Seattle
Great book -- wonderful way to discover Seattle. We discovered this book through the web site and after browsing the PDF files available I felt like it was 'cheating' to not purchase it. Turns out there are more walks in the book than there were online, so a good purchase (although it is easier to just print the PDFs when available to carry). We've used this book to help take us to places we hadn't been in the 22 years we've lived here. Embarrassingly, it took us to our first time in Rainier Beach, Ravenna Park and the Eastlake/Capital Hill intersection. We've found the directions exceedingly clear and where we've gotten lost it was both 'user error' and relatively minor.Sure, it could use more history and sometimes the staircase travel is a little contrived, but for the price (especially price divided by hours of use) its a great value and a nice addition to the urban and suburban walker

This is the best find for Seattle!
I love this book! What a great idea. I have used it and found places I wouldn't ever have a clue about. I am new to the Seattle area so this is a perfect way to get me out and let me explore neighborhoods that are unfamiliar to me. The directions are outstanding (literally step by step). It is a small pocket size book so easy to take with you on your hikes.

Great resource for winter hiking or urban walks
I am a regular hiker who likes to walk and hike year round. In the winter months, when many of the trails are covered with snow, the days are short, and the weather is frequently rainy, it is great to explore different trails and walks in our urban areas. What makes this a gem of a resource is, in addition to 20 different walks to take in Seattle, are the references to interesting sites, historical notes, and ideas for places to eat or take a break. The walks are clearly described, and include references to additional weblinks. And you can even scan in a code and the directions will be on your smart phone if you don't want to bring the book. But the book is pocket-size, and includes clear maps, so I found it easy to carry. I look forward to exploring another neighborhood again soon.

An Amazing, Diverse Guide for Exploring Hidden Parts of the City
I purchased this book before a recent visit to Seattle in hopes of exploring areas I hadn't seen yet. While I was familiar with many of the regions discussed in the book, the specific stairway walks were mostly new to me. I decided to try the Cedar Park route in NE Seattle and was pleasantly surprised by what I found along the way. It was definitely a good workout, but also visually satisfying. The route was clearly explained and easy to follow. It gave a shortcut option in case I didn't feel up to doing the entire route (which I opted for). This is a really great and unique book that's easy to carry along. I highly recommend it.

Needs updating
Not all areas are now safe to go through thanks to all the tweakers out in the neighborhoods.

Step by Step
Great hikes and what a wonderful way to see a new to us neighborhood. The details are easy but one must pay attention to all of those little details which are all included although getting lost is not a bad thing....For example: "Head straight up the stairs, take a right and then cross the street but be careful, this street does not have a cross walk." This small book, perfect to carry with and in fact one MUST, provides information on number of steps, restrooms, walking time, and cafe and pubs near by. Maps and photos are very helpful and directions to start the journey are clear. Have fun!
