Works better than I expected and allows me to park really close
This sensor attaches it self to the garage door's rail with the provided mount. The mount does not require any tools as you just need to push it in place and the sensor stays in place. To remove, just use a flat screw driver to push up the tabs. The sensor is easy to remove from the mount for battery replacements. It uses 4 AA batteries and there is NO USB option for it. Setup is easy and I just parked my car closer than what I need, clicked the button once to set the distance, then park away. The response is not super fast or super slow, so it responds fast enough when parking a car at slow speed. So far, I have been able to park my car extremely close to items with no issues. It has green, yellow, flashing yellow and red alerts. The red alert emits a tone. I park my car on using the flashing yellow. How good is it? I purchased another one.

Important to know when buying this item.
I used the original version purchased back in 2012. Only in the past 6 months or so it began to act up. Just purchased the newer "2020" version, along with a separate USB power pack. Please note the following:- The PDF instructions linked on the amazon page are for the original unit (battery operated only) not the "2020" version.- The Amazon page details state repeatedly the external power source uses a "standard USB" connector. There are 3 standard USB types used today. Mini USB, Micro USB and USB-C. USB-C is the most current. This unit that I received uses the most current USB-C. Which it actually states that in the instructions provided with the unit. Would be nice if it was stated more clearly in the page details or the linked PDF to avoid buying the wrong one.- I was reading one of the other reviews asking about the "charging" port on the unit. The port is NOT a charging port and will NOT charge any rechargeable batteries you may put in it. It is an optional power port only, so you can run on line power or batteries (or both with battery as backup in case of power outage).

Product Works, But the Seller Doesn’t
Review:This review is not about the product itself. I’ve been using the same device for over a year and it performs exactly as advertised. I use rechargeable batteries and replace them weekly with no issues. The product is reliable and does the job well. However, my complaint is with the seller. I received the package in a sealed envelope with a label indicating it was new and ready for sale. But upon opening it, I discovered that the manufacturer’s packaging had already been opened. The device showed visible signs of prior use, including scratches and remnants of adhesive tape on the back.I paid full price expecting a brand new item, not something that looked like it belonged in a recycling bin. The fact that it was resealed and shipped as new is a serious breach of trust. There was also a note on the store page saying “only one left,” which leads me to believe this very item—used and repackaged—was passed off as new. This kind of deceptive practice shows an alarming disregard for the customer. I strongly recommend avoiding this seller due to the lack of transparency and respect for buyers.

You have to try this.
For this price, wow! It works perfectly as advertised. Even your wife will want to get rid of the tennis ball. I worried about how long the batteries would last but I've been using the unit for several months and haven't had to replace any yet. And there's a port on the main unit where you can plug in a phone charger plugged into the wall that will provide constant power to the unit. But the phone charger isn't included in the package. What you do is put a 2 AA battery operated unit that outlines your license plate on the front of your car, or back if you want to back into the garage. Then you use the provided velcro to attach a little sensor to the wall at the height of the place your bumper sticks out the farthest. Then there's a four foot wire running from the sensor to the main unit and you find a place where you can see it form your car. It was all the way up for my pickup. Then you can either use the provided two sided tape tabs to attach the unit to the wall, or there is a screw slot where you can put a screw in the wall and hang the unit, which I opted to do and it works great. No screw was included though.Next you experiment a little bit with your vehicle to figure out where you want to stop it so that it will allow the garage door to close. The unit's default is set to stop you 1 foot from the wall and I found that left the back of my truck three feet inside the garage which was just right for me, so that's all I had to do. To customize, you simply figure out where you want the vehicle to come to rest, go to the main unit, and press the red button. Then that's where it will stop you every time.So when you pull in, an easy to see green light lights up and when you get a few feet away from the wall, it turns yellow. Then you slowly continue pulling in until it turns red, stop, and you will be right where you need to be every time. It's really fun at first and even later, it's a heck of an improvement over a tennis ball or some kind of block sticking out of your garage floor. I'd try one of these before I went with a much more expensive unit that works with your phone too. I'm hearing they don't sync so well. And I find this unit to work plenty good for what I want, which is just some peace of mind instead of cringing every time I close my garage door in fear that I didn't pull in far enough. And... getting rid of that ugly tennis ball. Sorry Hon.

So easy to use and helpful!
Every time I used to pull into my garage I would hit the folding able saw and stepladder leaning against the back wall of my garage, say oops!, and then back up a couple inches. This has saved my bumper and was SO EASY to install. I worried if the items adjacent to the stop sign on the wall of the garage might constantly trigger the sensor but that hasn’t been the case - I think the sensor points narrowly straight ahead, which is perfect . My car is so happy and I don’t have to say oops anymore
