The Complete Illustrated Guide to Growing Cacti & Succulents

This book gives good descriptions and photos on different cultivars of cacti. I really enjoy the fact that information can be found easily on various cacti.

Nice book, lots of ideals and pictures to know your Cactis and Succulents

This book is my first concerning Succulents, which I am growing for my leopard gecko's terrarium, and I would say it is an excellent starting point for learning about this type of gardening. I enjoy the fact that it illustrates and describes a large variety of succulents and therefore provides ideas about potential setups and new plants to obtain. I learned about proper substrate setup as well and various problems that could harm my plat as well; however the one thing I wanted to see expanded information is proper indoor lighting setups and requirements.

I expect a book to be a complete reference, well this covered most of my succulents. I don't do cacti. The information was clear easy to apply. I liked it well enough not to return it. I do use it, I just wish it included all of the plants I have.

This a beautiful book to look at, the photos are beautiful, but not as informative as I would like

I love how thorough this book can be. I am not saying this gives how to set up a nursery of cacti and forever set you off with all the questions you need answered, but it helps the avid grower. This has examples from all the major species, as well as a picture, information about where they come from and where they grow best. It also gives general tips on care and maintenance to keep your hobby alive and well. I bought this book more because it had a large section for succulents than because it's a complete illustrated guide, but I really do like having pictures to show exactly what they are talking about.

Love this book. Full of useful information -- botanical background on succulents, growing these plants indoors and outdoors, in containers or in ground, pests, tools, propagation, specific families and species. Has various lists such as -- succulents for beginners, cacti for beginners, succulents/cacti for advanced, those for shade, cold tolerant, caudiciforms, and more categories. Nice handy size and light weight enough to carry around for quick reference. He has a great online succulent nursery with a wide variety of quality plants. Have ordered plants from him for years and have never been disappointed.

It is a pure pleasure to flip through the pages of this book, with excellent couloir pictures, that enable identification of your plants.

I was looking for more details on some cacti that I had, thus this purchase. I was able to find my cactus in the book -great help!

Nice and informative book for those who love cactus and succulents.

The book is a great read with lots of useful information and some spectacular images/photos.However I already have this book , under a different name printed in 2004 'The Ultimate book of Cacti & Succulents"the cover is the only difference. But if you don;t have it, then get a copy of it.

Interesting info. Need by the novice.
