A 30-something urbanite is pulled back to his rural hometown by his high-school buddies on Thanksgiving to finish The Turkey Bowl, an epic football game against their crosstown rivals that was snowed out 15 years before.

This movie grows on you!
Saw this movie with my boys when it first came out. Wasn't a fan. Saw it again, yesterday. Totally different feel. What I thought was corny the first time, was warm and funny this time around. This is a low budget film, but it gets the job done. I'm sure by the time I get around to my 4th or 5th viewing, it'll be a loved classic. Ronnie is the Best!

Funny and nostalgic
As a person who has moved away from the small town and has never looked back, it was very heart warming. When I was out of HS we always had the turkey bowl at a specified school field and the game went on until we got tired or someone went to the hospital. Usually the latter. It was funny and entertaining and at times made me think of the people I played football or went to school with.

Really Fun Movie
I'd say this was a descent 3.5 rated any night good movie. A little predictable in some parts ( just a tiny but) but a great movie if you just want something funny with no heavy themes, drama, or huge special effects. It's pretty funny too. I'd have given it more than a 3 , at least a 3.5-3.75 but my phone won't let me do half stars. Good for a wind down , date night, thank God not another Cancer movie, feel upbeat movie when you are done kind of flick. I also really like the main character.

Old school movie
We liked this low budget, old school movie. Great entertainment with a good story about friendship etc. This was way better than some of the expensive Hollywood movies. Funny, romance, drama.... Perfect for a night.

It's a fun time.
It is a funny movie. It's not going to win any awards or anything. I mainly watched it because it was shot in my hometown and neighboring towns. It's pretty funny in an American Pie spirit, it is a raunchy comedy. Plus any movie with Badger from Breaking Bad is going to be good. LOL

It’s not for everyone
My husband and I watched this together. It didn’t really make us laugh at all, it did make us look at each other a lot (like WTH that was supposed to be funny). The movie gets better towards the end.

Might Have Been Ok
But I'll never know. I could handle the "acting" and the low production value. I wasn't expecting Oscar performances and CGI. Even the "could have sworn I read that in a textbook" cinematography. I just couldn't deal with the writing, though. If it had taken itself less seriously, then trope upon trope might have been ok. Maybe it even turned out better after more than 15-20 minutes. But I'll never know.
