I have tried a few casting traps, these are for sure the winner
Great caster, I have a few different kinds and these are by far the best for my PNW dungies. reasons being: I think the bait bag is superior to other clamp traps that use a skewer. I have other cast traps with the skewer for bait and the chicken is down to the bone after a couple casts vs this kind where i reuse the baid the next day cause it barely is touched while STILL CATCHING THE SAME AMOUNT OF CRAB. So I save a ton of money on bait with these, catch the same amount of crab, they are 1/2 the price. Another thing i noticed i like: the rope floats vs others that sink and get caught on rocks. Now for the cons: rope is a little slick and when there is seaweed floating near shore it will catch. a smidge heavy (for me its fine im in my 30s 6ft tall so i like the weight but it for sure is anoticable difference tothe crab max). netting is a smisge loose causing smaller crabs to get a little stuck (not a huge deal just drop in the water they tend to get un stuck and float back down).Awesome trap I ran 3 traps and pulled in 4 keepers in under an hour, not even in the good season yet!

Easy to use
Very easy to use and been have a great success with this traps.Lost one, because the metal clamp that hold the line together snapped.I'll suggest to reinforce that before throwing it into the water.

Don’t trust the crimps.
Lost my trap cause the crimp gave way. Worked fine until then. Recommend double strengthing the ties.

Love this product !
I’ve both these before. You can either attach it to a heavy duty fishing pole, or you can just throw it out with your hand. A fun way to catch blue point crabs. Just remember to rinse well after use to get all the saltwater off of them, so that they can last longer. Highly recommend.

Haven't caught a crab yet
I haven't caught a crab yet. I don't know if it's because of the trap or if I am not using it correctly. Either way, i have no crabs to show for it. I did catch the other kind of crabs without the aid of this device.

Wonderful Traps
I liked these the first time I used them that I came home and purchased 2 more. I replaced the rope with a better rope. Yesterday a small alligator got his head stuck in the trap trying to steal my chicken and all I could think, "how am I going to save my trap" ! I let the tension on the rope go the trap opened and he got out. Whew....saved trap. I LOVE, LOVE LOVE these traps ! I just sent my son a picture of the traps and to buy on Amazon and he won't go wrong! He is excited about taking his family crabbing and these will be perfect for all of them !

woolen thread instead of nylon mesh?
Not sure what's benefit to pay $50 for two if exact same thing can be purchased in Canadian tire for $17/each. Even that one's has real nylon mesh. Not sure what material used here, feels like woolen thread. Will see how it lasts. I got these one's in hope to have more reliable opening spring wires, but it looks same as I have for $17, which lasts for very short period of time (3 times out on the water). I guess next purchase will be spring wire from hardware shop.
