I got what I paid for
I've been using Hyper-x alpha for about a year. It was relatively light and simple, but always gave me headache due to its tightness; especially with glasses on. So, I've been looking for something else that sounds decent and glasses friendly. This sure is little bulky, but not as bulky as razers gaming headsets I think. Because of its enough cushions and comfort it gives while wearing, I don't feel its entire weight on my head that much and I can wear this for a long periods of time. I'm not a sound expert, but its sound-quality is definitely better than Hyper-x alpha. Its surround sound is pretty impressive. This is my first high-end headset and with 7.1 surround sound. Cheaper headsets with 7.1 surround sound always had huge compromises on the sound quality, but this one seems to have fulfilled the high-quality sound. It feels like I'm wearing pairs of decent speakers. Its setting can be adjusted with their dedicated app and it works, but I'm not so sure about its noise cancelling mic. I think it would be nice if they provide something like a tutorial for customizing the headset with the app in detail because I don't know if the noise cancelling mic is actually working or not.I thought this one also would have a little bit of noise cancelling on the audio/speaker, but unfortunately, it didn't block any noise nor sounds coming from the headset. So forget about playing games while wearing this in a place like library and expect people not to hear you game. However, overall, its price makes sense. Built with good plastics, aluminum/metal-ish material, and aesthetically compact despite of its sound-quality; and USB type-c at that. The wire, wire . its wire is something I had to get used to because most of the products that I've used so far, that had only one wire on the either left of right, but this one has two on the both sides. And it feels like you're wearing a headset and also a necklace that's hanging on your headset. I guess both wires were required for its power. I wouldn't give this headset up just because it has two wires.Buttons on the headset itself is also a nice touch. I'm glad that they didn't put the buttons on the wire. That would've been so annoying.RGB lighting is unnecessary and generates a bit of surface heat, but it looks primum and you also have option on the button to turn this feature off.In terms of sizing, it seems pretty versatile.I've never used any audio products from Asus & ROG. This is good purchase. Good thing I didn't rush over to get a replacement for my hyper-x alpha right away. I waited for this headset to be release for about a month. Now I don't get headache b/c of freaking headset. I hate you Hyper-x alpha. it tortured my head for a year, and now I'm a free man

Amazing and worth the money. If you love great audio when gaming, get these.
I Purchased the "ASUS ROG Theta 7.1”, this was an upgrade from the "Roccat XTD 5.1 Digital" and "Roccat XTD 5.1 Analog”I was very hesitant to pull the trigger as the price was $300, I kept going back and forth asking myself if I should take the chance as I was truly under the impression that my Roccat’s were the best I was be able to accomplish with True Discrete multi channel headphones.Well, I was wrong and wished that I would have just pulled the trigger immediately, I simply love these, they are great.I have seen some complaints about the wires being extra thick and they are but that doesn’t bother me at all.I have also see complaints about the dual wires one per side and not a single wire, well, I have many high end headphones that use that same system, see below, so that didn’t phase me at all.Headphones:Meze EmpyreanHiFiMan AnandaCustom In Ear Monitors:Jerry Harvey RoxanneUltimate Ears UE-11 ProWhat I would like to say is these are really good, I love the sound and separation that I get from the discrete drivers and the software which allows you to adjust the volume levels of each individually. My major concern was that then bass would be anemic even though I didn’t have that issue with the Roccat, I was just concerned because there are not huge bass drivers, but i was pleasantly surprised to find that the bass is actually really good.I am very happy that I made this purchase, I never look back and regret spending the $400 dollars on these, just wish I would not have hesitated.

Heavy & Hot"
The sound quality is fantastic, almost all of the side noise is blocked, but after 3 hours of gaming last night, they do get hot and on the heavy side.I've used wireless for over 10 years and thought I would change for the sound quality" Not worth being chained to a cord a real loss of freedom. My best is a 4 Star, now we will see how long the headphones last.Quality or Junk, I will update at a later time.

FINALLY FOUND THE BEST GAMING HEADSET!! FINALLY!!!
LISTEN....IM GOING TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH! I have been on the hunt for the best sounding headset I could find. I have tried SteelSeries NOVA PROS/ Audio-technica/Corsair/JBL/Razor. Along with others. And hands down these are the best headphones I have ever heard. When I dropped into Warzon 2.0 it blew my mind. I Literally said (OH MY GOSH) Just unreal. For instance in Warzone with other headsets I could always hear other players for steps when they were close. But I could never pin point where they were exactly. Left/Right/UP/Down.These are true 7.1 surround sound. No BS Virtual surround sound or spital surround sound. That is because they have 4 drivers (Speakers) per headphone Total of 8. So there is 4 speakers on each side of your ear. With these headphones I can finally here exactly where the other players are now. Even if there on the floor above me to the right. I can finally Distinguish where for once.Listen if your looking for the Best sounding gaming headset...then you have found it. It does have a trade off on the mic though. It doesn't have the specs as good as a SteelSeries NOVA PROS. But it's a still great mic. I asked my friends online which mic sounded the best. Even given the Steel Series has a better mic on paper. But my friend said that this Asus Theta 7.1 sounded the best. And I can confirm this thing is a BEAST!TRUST ME I HAVE HIGH STANDARDS!IF YOUR ON THE FENCE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND JUST CHECK THEM OUT. IT WILL BE A GREAT CHOICE.CHEERS 🍻
