Precision Lathe Tailstock Imperial Rigid Die Holder for threading Lathe Machine- Engineering Tools (MORSE TAPER 3MT)

This product is working great but I did have to bore a slightly larger bore to accommodate my dies.

This made threading ultra precise and easy.

The tooling pieces themselves seem to be reasonable for the price.The real problem is the handle... one end threads into the die holder with a 6x1.0 THD... wayyyy too small for larger threading dies and/or harder materials.. the other end of the handle has a plastic knob fitted.. however, both ends of the handle threads were stripped rendering the handle useless. Frankly, I expected better quality.

I had to bore out the dye holder to fit, but other than that worked good out the box.

The stock threading for the Tommy bar is very shallow-only a couple of threads engaged. The metallurgy of the Tommy is not up to the task, and sheared at the thread shoulder. I'll just bore some non-threaded holes in the die stocks and use slip-fit bars for better grab.

The media could not be loaded.  I needed a die holder quickly and also wanted somewhat relatively decent quality. This one seemed like the best choice given what is available on Amazon.I know this is a 'value' type of tool, but even at that level it still disappoints (at least the unit I received).The biggest issue is that the die holder will not easily slide on the arbor. The fit is too tight and it looks to be because the bore on the die holder is poorly finished (see pic, video).There are also a few smaller issues:At least a couple of the grub screw threaded holes are quite crooked on the smaller die holder (the radially drilled holes are not straight). No deburring. Holes filled with chips. See pic.The thread on the die handle is larger than the thread on the die body - you cannot install the handle on the die holder. See pic.The die holders were quite dinged up - lots of little dents and marks, no deburring, full of chips. The item was generally also poorly/inconsistently finished...looks like an apprentice made them.I returned mine. Be aware that their policy doesn't refund shipping (it should if their product is crap). So i'm out $20. Great.Yes, most of these items could be fixed or redone; I'm prepared to have to deal with a few things when it comes to these types of value-line tools, but the amount of problems in this case just wasn't worth it. I'll buy a good MT3 shank and make my own.
