Finding Grandma's Memories

This heart warming story focuses on the close relationship of a little girl with her grandma. They always have a special bonding time over tea discussing their day and sharing stories of growing up. One day the little girl begins to notice her grandma doing silly forgetful things like not turning water off or losing her glasses. Then Grandma starts to get worse, even mistakenly calling her grand daughter by a childhood friends name. Her parents discuss with her about grandma losing her memories which of course makes her worry but also motivates her to come up with ways to help. It's common for families to have older generations in their family experience memory loss to different degrees; it can be a tough situation to deal with. I appreciate how gentle this subject is approached in this book but it still opens it up for discussion. The details in the illustration of cups and dishes throughout the book are my favorite! Also I love how the family is interracial!
