Excellent product for travel or that 'newbie' looking to learn how to sew
I was looking for a kit that was compact but a quality product at the same time. I knew this was no easy task as the bigger sewing kits are nice, but way too bulky for travel. The 'kits' you get at a local drugstore are terrible because the quality is just awful.I will (embarrassingly) admit that my expectations were not to high as I have sen shoddy products in the past. Fortunately I was proven wrong. My first observation was that the quality of the bag it comes in is really top notch. The zipper is very rugged and the nylon (canvas?) bag that contain the sewing implements is really great! If I ever run out of thread or pins, I'll buy another one of these and use the small bag to carry jewelry, watches and other valuables. The bag is really that good!I have yet to really sew anything yet, but I know the thread will do just fine. I mean, I'm not going to hand stitch an entire pair of jeans with this thing... it is an emergency kit for travel in case I lose a button or rip something while on the road. Or, in a pinch, if I need access to a seam removal tool... I have it right handy in this kit.My bigger fear was the scissors. For the price I was really expecting a mediocre tool, but these were way, way better than expected. They are sharp (always a plus when you are trying to cut things!), and they are not 'sloppy'. What happens usually with cheap scissors is that the two blades wiggle a bit so they are just hard to use. These are tight, sharp, and will certainly be useful. The last big plus is that this kit lays very flat. I don't know how many sewing kits I see that are bulky. I am travelling! If I want one for my sewing room... I'll buy one for that purpose. I wanted something that I can throw in my luggage and know it will take up virtually no space but still be there if I need it.As a side note, I did mention this may be good for a beginning seamstress. This has everything you need for a little one to get started and not be overwhelmed. Plus, for the price, if something happens it isn't the end of the world. You can give them their own 'professional sewing kit' and they will fell like a true pro!

Good overall kit.
Good kit for the price. I wish the cash had a little more structure to it. It is each to let it flop, causing some of the pieces to dump out. Maybe a better needs storage option than a small plastic bag would help too, but overall a nice kit.

A stitch in time...
A couple of weeks ago, I needed to mend an article of mine, an old Army field jacket. Having recently moved many items you take for granted were " " gone? I managed to find some thread, but no needle. Eventually I found needles in a box of leather tools, but it had a tiny hole and I couldn't find a needle threader. So, as always in times of need, I simplified the whole problem by going online to Amazon and searched for a simple kit, and this one kept popping up at the top of the lists, so I ordered it.Five minutes after it arrived I was fixing my field jacket (a hood button was about to fall off and it is pretty cold here, already) and I decided I wouldn't use anything not in the kit except the OD thread I had found. The kit has everything you need for a repair like this. Good product, perfect for travel or bug out bag...It has made it into a back pocket in my briefcase, where it will live, for the near term, at least.Kerro is also a good provider, shipping and quality, both.

The sewing kit is nice, but the repeated emails to review it are annoying.
The kit had what I expected, is in a decent enough case, and came with a variety of thread. However, I have no desire to receive four discreet messages asking me to review a product. One star for repeated messages asking me for a review.

Look for Better Options
I had real hopes for this sewing kit, while the contents have the tools I wanted the quality is very low.

For this price I expected much better quality. It's more like a dollar store item
Not impressed with the quality. The price of $17.99 is about $10 to high for what you get here. It does have all the basic sewing needs, but it's in a really cheap case with absolutely no sections/pockets, only flimsy elastic loops that really don't hold anything in securely. For this price I expected much better quality. It's more like a dollar store item. Very cheap looking. May send it back but bought it for a Christmas gift for my next door neighbor who said she needed a sewing kit. I will probably send this back.

Cheap and has everything.
The last 2 sewing kits I bought from Target didn't have a case, and I ended up losing the pieces over the years. For the same price, I got this one! It has more tools, and color options, and comes with a nice case to hold/organize everything! Some of the bands to hold tools in place were a little lose, but luckily I was able to fix it with the included sewing tools!

A suggestion
I am a 81 year old male in an assisted care facility.. Living alone and trying to be independent. I got the Kerro sewing kit to sew on the the occasional button. The sense of touch in my fingers has been greatly reduced due to neuropathy. Consequently, it was extremely difficult to even thread a needle let alone attaching the button. I got it done, but it took time as well as frustration.A suggestion is to provide pre-threaded needles, either by themselves or as a part of the sewing kit.
