Rust-Oleum 1 qt Brands 287722 Clear Chalked Ultra Matte Paint, 30 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)

I bought this in white to brighten up my dining room table set. I'm no stranger to chalk painting furniture, but this is the first time using Rustoleum. My typical brands have skyrocketed in price, but I have to say, as the cheapest option available at the time of purchase ($.60/oz), I am not disappointed! 2-3 coats was necessary for complete coverage on dark wood using a paint prush, as I anticipated despite "one coat coverage" advertisement (we all know that's never true on dramatic color changes). I lightly sanded the varnish prior to painting as a precaution, but I probably could have skipped that step. The paint adhered nicely and dried with minimal paint strokes. Virtually orderless as far as paint goes, and super easy to work with. The color is exactly what I expected: a lovely fresh clean white, easy to love! Unfortunately, it does not match my "vintage white" furniture in the room as well as I'd like, so I'll be picking up a different brand to do a final coat (though I'm sure house guests would never notice). Then I will apply some wax to protect it. All in all, yes, I fully recommend this paint if you can find it in the color you want! I've included the before and after of my table.

I refinished an old 90's oak side table in my living room to give it a new look with this chalk paint. I chose chalk paint because it is notoriously easy to work with, covers well, and is durable. The serene blue color was just beautiful, and a slightly unusual color for a wood piece. Yet it matched my living room decor perfectly. The paint is thick, thicker than latex or other paints you might be more familiar with. However, it goes on well and covers completely in just a coat or two. Best of all, there's no need for sanding first! I admit, it did scuff sand a little bit first, just to assure good adhesion, but this wasn't necessary according to the package directions. Once cured, the paint is very durable with a completely matte finish that easy to sand off if you want a more distressed look to your piece. For extra durability, you might consider covering with a polycrylic or wax. I used less than half of my quart-sized can for this table. Since chalk paint is so easy to work with, I am thinking about what else I can cover with my leftover paint!

Will choose this brand for future projects! Used Blush Pink. I've only used one other chalk brand (don't remember which) to compare but the Rust-oleum was very easy to work with. It isn't as viscous as others I researched. Easy to apply. Because paint on electronic screen is deceiving, I went to Lowes with a swatch I painted and tried to color match. The closest color I found was Valspar Rosy Glow 1008-8C. My Lowes has a somewhat limited selection so there may be more exact colors for comparison but in medium to dim light, Rosy Glow is highly comparable. In bright light, it's still the closest I found but not as exact.If you zoom in to the desktop you'll see some streaking. That was poor application on my part. I used a different liquid wax which I wouldn't recommend. Don't blame the chalk paint brand for my bad painting skills.I definitely recommend.

Applies smooth. No smell. I’ve never done any transformation project but I did this at my old childhood home for my mom. My old dresser remod…. This paint was fantastic!

This is the perfect off white color. Based on the label I thought it would be too yellow. It is definitely not 1 coat coverage which is why I gave it a 4.

The Rust-Oleum 329211-2PK Ultra Matte Interior Chalked Paint in Farmhouse Red is a fantastic choice for achieving a rustic, vintage look. The ultra-matte finish delivers a smooth, velvety texture that enhances furniture and home decor projects. It's easy to apply and offers excellent coverage, even on rough surfaces. While this chalked paint performs beautifully, those familiar with milk paint may appreciate the additional ease of mixing and layering that milk paint offers. However, for a ready-to-use, vibrant farmhouse finish, this Rust-Oleum product is hard to beat!

My favorite paint, perfect for small tasks and works well for larger [pieces of furniture. the smell is fine and coverage can't be any better. goes on smooth and blends well. No priming or sanding needing. It's durability is great too.

This paint is truly the best chalk paint I have ever used!!! Easy Application One Coat is True. Dries smooth with a beautiful finish. I will always look for this paint for any chalk painting projects in the future! And the lid closes tight to save for later use.
