I buy one of these every year in December for the next year!! I always put the year on the top flap in Sharpie!! I store them until it is time to shred and then it is easy to take to shredder! It is also an easy way to go back, by year, to find paperwork you may need. I had to find receipt for a medical item and my filing method made it so much easier! Don't hesitate to buy...it is a great necessity to storing paperwork!

It is made in Mexico. The clasp can be a little cumbersome to close until the file starts to get full, not a big deal. The preprinted divider categories worked well enough for me that they required no modifications. No need to buy and label individual tab cut file folders as they are built in to the file case. The tabs are also simultaneously marked A_Z if you want to file alphabetically. Of course if you had unusual or particular filing needs you could use tab labels for customization.I used this exact model file last year and it is holding my personal documents including tax prep. This is what I wanted, one file, sturdy enough to hold all my documents for a year. After taxes are done it will just be stored for 7-8 years and from what I see so far it will hold up well enough. Will I be able to use it again after I recycle the documents it now contains? Idk. It is vinyl coated cardboard, kraft paper and glue. If you want something more heavy duty it will cost much more.If you plan on storing really small loose pieces of paper you probably should stuff them in an envelope as the bottom of the dividers are floating, not fixed to the bottom of the case. This is typical of this type of thing as it allows you to stuff the sections with different amounts of documents without stressing the dividers much.All in all I am happy with these file cases as they are adequate to my needs and keep things organized, neat looking and at ones fingertips. I purchase this every year to store our annual records from bank statements, medical receipts etc. I have no complaints and it is an easy way to keep everything in one place and organized in an easy format.
