Exact fit.
This fan was a replacement for the original BMW on my 2001 540i.I've owned the vehicle from New and the fan was beginning to cycle with a strange pattern and noise.Fan is very quiet and operates normal with no issues.

Works Great - Perfect Fit
I was skeptical because when I bought the fan it had bad reviews. People said that it arrived broken, didn't fit or was too loud. I have a 2001 BMW 530i stock. It takes some time to install ( remove front bumper) but fit EXACTLY like the old one. Also, some negative reviews said the fan was loud. Wrong. Do people forget how loud they are supposed to be? I did a side by side test with my old and this new fan and found they are practically identical and not one is louder than the other. Maybe its because they are paying more attention to it than usual after the install. Connector was the same, fan was not broken.

Did not receive TYC fan.
I thought I was getting a TYC fan. I shouldn't have strayed from a Behr/Hella for my e39's cooling issues but I saw decent reviews for TYC. Much to my surprise I received and even cheaper fan made in Taiwan! It didn't line up properly with the front end of the car, and the air flaps didn't open or close smoothly. This put me behind in my repairs as I had to return this unit and wait a long time to get my money back. If you decide to run this fan it is insanely loud and unbalanced. Beware. The seller refunded my money but it took a long time to get back.

It's not a perfect OEM true fit but it works very well......
I got this replacement condenser fan after calling a shop I regularly use for my 1999 528I. Well, they wanted $650 for an OEM part of course excluding the labor. Uuum, oh heck no! So in my search for replacement, reviews etc came across the TYC and got decent reviews and ordered. Part looked like original, same weight and quality. Took about 2.5hours to install and fit without any problems. Time for testing when AC kicks on. Here is where I knock a star rating off. Although it fits no problem, the front plastic grill housing rubs against the plastic vents for airflow over the radiator/condenser causing it to rub together. And it's even worse when the hood is closed and pushes the vent up against the new condenser plastic cover which rubs on the housing for the blades. So it's not a perfect OEM true fit but it works. We tried pulling the clips away that attach it to the top of the radiator and bending the plastic scoops outwards a little, but it didn't help. So finally we had to cut out a about 3 rows (in a 1/2 moon) of the upper plastic cover (there are two an upper an lower) that was creating the rubbing and noise. It didn't affect the functionality and now works great. Hope this is helpful.

Excellent replacement for the Siemens OEM unit that died after ...
2003 540I Sport-Excellent replacement for the Siemens OEM unit that died after 10 years and 163K miles. Perfect fit, and identical in appearance. One note- the plug on this fan does not come with a replacement clip that holds the harness to the fan like the OEM did- YOU HAVE TO SAVE THE OLD CLIP!The old harness is secured to the shroud at the plug- to remove it, turn the plug slightly, the shroud has a rectangular hole that the clip (on the old fan plug) goes into and when you turn it, it locks in place. turn the old plug slightly and it comes out of the shroud. Then, you have to slide the clip itself (or break it out) of the old plug and put back into new plug, it's a perfect fit. Once you do that, the new fan harness secures exactly like the old one.The fan is perfectly balanced, and as for "Noise" complaints- if you didn't hear the old one, it's likely due to the fact the old one is DEAD- the noise is indicative it's working. OF COURSE YOU ARE GOING TO NOTICE IT NOW- IT'S WORKING.Other odd notes- there are three push rivets that hold the kidney shroud in place up top, you can see them when you open the hood, to remove them, push the pin in the middle all the way through, and catch them with your hand underneath. Do not try to pull them up- just get a small punch and push them through. The kidney shroud is held on by 3(?) 8MM bolts- two on drivers, one on passenger side up behind headlight, you do not need to remove the headlights entirely, unbolt them, pull them outwards, tip out of the way to get to bolts behind them. On the lower corner, passenger side of the kidney shroud, it's secured with another push rivet, but it's a pain to get to- Break it out with a flathead, and you will be left with a hole there-The same rivets that hold the top of the kidney shroud in place will replace the broken one nicely, use one of the rivets from the top of the kidney shroud to replace it, put it back together with only rivets at the top of the shroud, leave one open then drive to dealer to get new push rivet- pop your hood, install the new rivet to replace the one you robbed to use below, and it's finished. Also, I recommend a very slight spattering of silicone grease on the connections, just a small amount to fight any moisture that may get in the plug, just a very light dab on the female side where the pins slide in before you put it together....Done. It's a perfect match, as good as OEM.

Pleasantly suprised.
Bought for 2001 BMW 530I Initially I was skeptical about buying an aftermarket fan for my BMW, replacing Bosch quality with some unknown kindabugged me. I was so glad when I compared the two side by side and the new unit looks to be better quality than the original! Awesome!Half the price and better quality, win win. Fitment was perfect, the next worry was how well balanced would it be, surprised again, absolutely perfect balance, I put my hand on the unit and there are zero vibrations, very well balanced. I highly recommend this unit and would not hesitate to order again. PhillH

LOUD!!!
The fan works and it fit my 2000 540i perfectly, but it is very loud when on low, and sounds like a jet engine when on high. I would not recommend this product... it actually causes pedestrians to turn and look when it turns on.

Great replacement so far.
I crossed my fingers when purchasing this product but so far it's been great. I've put 6k miles on it and it has performed like day one. Perfectly balanced, comparably quiet and it is overall an inexpensive high quality part. If your part number requires a fan that fits a march 2001 and above 5 series this is the one to get.**Update*** 2020/01/05 still going strong.
