Pictures of every recipe, YESSSSSS! Truly an awesome book on so many levels.
I picked this up the other day and haven't been able to put it down. You'll be tempted to skip straight to the recipes when it arrives but if you do make sure you flip back to the beginning and read the story. It makes the book make perfect sense. These recipes were chosen with purpose and the story tells why. She also gives a very easy to follow 30 day plant based challenge and reading the book helps you understand where each recipe fits into that challenge. And, yes you'll start noticing a change in how you feel rather quickly! I've been plant based for 25 years but she gave me a completely new outlook on it and I'm doing it better now. I already have more energy after 4 days and my family and I have loved every single thing we've made so far out of this book. The smoothies are soooo delicious. To the naysayers stating recipes have been free on the website, the book gives it all to you with so much more than just recipes. If you want to browse recipes go on the site, if you want to be inspired by the why behind all these recipes along with gorgeous color photographs of every single one get the book. Just get the book! It's food you can feel so good about eating and preparing for your family. Even the couple things I thought I might not like I actually really enjoyed. I've already made some things twice and the smoothies, oh my goodness. And as one reviewer mentioned she felt the main meal recipes were lacking, I'm willing to bet she skipped straight to the recipes and didnt read the story....and too many desserts....no way, we need those healthy desserts too. I love having treats I can feel great about making for my family and that'shard to find. This book will inspire you in so many more ways than a typical cookbook. Andrea, from a plant based michigan mom, I salute you. Great job putting this together, for following your dreams (I've always wanted to create a cookbook), for not giving up when it probably seemed hard, and for successfully converting your burger hubby into this amazing lifestyle. My family also jumped onboard my plant based train a little over a year ago and your book is our new favorite. I so hope you get these reviews because you rock, and don't let the others get you down, you can't please everyone. But, know you have a fan club here at our house!

My Plant Based Julie & Julia
The media could not be loaded. This. This is the book. Whether you've never eaten a vegetable in your life or you're a self-proclaimed herbivore, this is the book. I've been following Andy for years and was elated when she announced that she was coming out with a cookbook. However, I had to hold myself accountable for judging this book fairly, and not just decide to like it because she takes great smoothie bowl pictures and has adorable children. (They are so adorable, though!) The day I recieved my book I started reading and before I knew it I was over 50 pages in, hooked, and I hadn't even reached the recipes yet. The book is beautifully laid out, easy to follow, and the pictures are to DIE for. However, the most impressive part of this book is the amount of KNOWLEDGE and EDUCATION she includes! All of my life I have dealt with hypothyroidism symptoms, although I've never been diagnosed, along with many other mystery health issues. Andy does such a great job of explaining her health journey and how plants have helped heal her, while encouraging the reader. It also meant a lot to me that she had a doctor review the book so you know you are getting quality, factual information. I've dabbled in the vegetarian/vegan/plant-based space for a little over a year and I've never felt so excited or inspired to start cooking (& start healing!) My doctor recently asked me to continue being vegetarian while also cutting out gluten, dairy, and soy. This cookbook has made what seemed like a daunting task, effortless. This book has 75 recipes ranging from smoothie bowls, salads, desserts, salad dressings, sides, and more. I appreciate how every recipe has accessible ingredients that can be reused in so many other recipes. For example, she doesn't call for 1 tsp of tarragon in one recipe and then no other recipe uses it so you're stuck with tarragon that you're never going to use. She uses simple ingredients from the earth that can be used in many recipes. (Which helps save money at the grocery store!) As a person that cooks for one, I've found that these recipes are either simple to halve or I can spend a few hours cooking on Sunday and have lots of meals ready for the week! All of her recipes are super flexible so you can add in/take out what you like. For example, I switch out potatoes for sweet potatoes in many of her recipes and everything still tastes delicious! She really encourages you to put your own twist on things. This book also inspired me to do the 30 day plant over processed challenge. I already eat vegan at home but Andy makes such great suggestions like eating lighter to heavier, 80% living foods and 20% cooked. She labels each recipe accordingly which made it a breeze to plan out my weekly meals! I've sort of felt like my own version of "Julie & Julia" cooking my way through this book, a new recipe each day, increasingly excited to create in the kitchen. This book has made my life easier and helped me save money by using seasonal fruits and vegetables and encouraging me to eat at home (and through the 30 day challenge, I've been saving money from not buying alcohol)!I've realized at this point my review might be all over the place. It's because I have so much energy! These recipes are filling and nourishing and leave me filled with energy to take on the day. As a personal project, I have been writing my own reviews for the individual recipes along with tips and tricks that maybe I will share one day! But it has been fun to pretend to be a food blogger through Andy's cookbook. All in all, I couldn't recommend this book more and I'm so thankful to Andy for pouring her heart into it!

Flexible recipes and something for everyone!
I was so excited to receive my book and started reading the moment it came. This book is amazing! The amount of education and knowledge in this book is incredible. Not to mention the photography is stunning and the book it beautifully laid out which makes my graphic designer heart happy. She explains her health journey and I love that she mentions a doctor reviewed her book, so I know I’m getting good quality information.I have a kiddo allergic to dairy, which has forced my husband and I (for the good) to make changes to our eating lifestyle. I’m always looking for healthy and delicious dairy free recipes for my family and this book is gold. I love that the recipes are flexible and she encourages you to put your twist on these recipes and make them your own.Whether you follow this book and the 30 day plant based challenge completely or just looking to make healthy swaps, there is truly something in this book for everyone. I’ll admit, I haven’t fully committed to the 30 day plant based challenge yet, but plan to. Andy encourages you to make the changes to your eating lifestyle you feel comfortable with, so I don’t feel like a failure for not diving into the challenge right away. I’ll get there though! This book is so inspiring and I highly recommend it! Thank you, Andy, for sharing this amazing book with the world!

What an inspirational introduction to plant based eating. I love this book. The photos are beautiful and the recipes delicious! Andrea lives an enviable life and while we all can’t live in Hawaii (I really wish I could) we can adopt her plant over processed way of life! Buy this book! You will not be disappointed.

This book is changing our lives!
This is my favorite book, or I should say: Journey in a book. I am already a vegetarian/Mediterranean so I did not need the extra push to let go of meat/processed food and eat more plants as our Mediterranean diet is full of plants and we make almost everything from scratch (Bread, Jam, canned and fermented goods, etc..). However, Andy was still able to change our lives! We are guilty of buying processed snacks and desserts as it is convenient and it's also hard to find vegan recipes that actually work to be good (My stomach can't tolerate dairy). Ever since I got Andy's book I have been trying out her recipes and I can't express in writing how satisfying and delicious they are, it's a plus to know that you are having something nutritious and not high in sugar; especially when it comes to desserts. I have not even got to my favorite part about this book and that is that it's not simply a cookbook! It's an educational book with a life-changing 30-day challenge that I am following right now. It takes you on a complete journey of learning about Andy's story and feeling like you are having a cup of tea together talking about life. It then moves to talk about the value of plants in a way that is interesting and backed by science. After reading everything Andy has to say about plants it's very hard not to drop everything and go buy a bunch of delicious fruits and vegetables! Andy also includes a detailed essentials list to help you stock your plant-based kitchen. You can find these in any grocery store/farmer's market. She then goes on to introduce a 30-Day challenge to help you kick start your own journey to healing your body with food. And then there's the best part in which Andy includes her recipes that are so delicious and nutritious with equally beautiful photos. Andy then seals the journey with more benefits this diet has on a larger scale and the most beautiful quote. I started my 30-day challenge as soon as I got the book and I already feel better physically, mentally and emotionally. My family and I feel so grateful for this journey in a book. I already have a list of people I want to buy this book for as gifts!

Libro carino e fatto bene. Foto molto belle.
