Best Blender that Lasts
I love smoothies. I make them every day. I literally use my blender daily. I tried all the other more expensive blenders but they never lasted more than one year. I purchased this blender with the expectation that it would not last a year, but figured it was better to spend $75 per year than spending more than $200 per year on a blender. Recently my Oster blender has been struggling to keep up with my demands so I went on Amazon to find a new blender. I was absolutely shocked to see that I purchased this blender FIVE years ago!! You can be sure that I just purchased it again!Pros:Not only is this blender able to handle everything I give it on a daily basis and it has blended strong for 5 years, it also is just a really great blender! I love that the jar is glass. it's heavy duty and doesn't make that horrible scraping sound that plastic blenders make when scraping out the insides with a spoon. Because it's glass, it is clear and not "foggy" like the plastic ones get over time. The blades are removable from the glass jar and dishwasher safe. You can leave the blades screwed on to the jar and place in the dishwasher that way. I usually remove the blades once a month and wash them. There is a gasket that can also be removed and cleaned. Also the glass jar holds a lot. This blender can handle working hard whether the jar is full or if you are making a small batch. The base has buttons instead of a dial which I prefer. It's easy to wipe clean and doesn't take up a ton of space. As a smoothie lover, I initially purchased this model for the smoothie button. It makes perfect smoothies every single time.Cons:It is definitely loud. You're gonna want to pause the TV while blending because there is no way you will hear it over this blender! One other drawback is that the metal bolt or knob the jar fits into on the base gets a little rusty over time. You just need to be sure the bottom of the blades (that fits into the base) is completely dry after washing before you place it in the base. Also, that bolt in the base gets turned slightly when you take the jar off the base. So eventually you have to turn it with your hand to get the jar to seat properly when placed back in the base.Overall the pros definitely outweigh the cons for me. Love this blender! Can't wait for my new one to arrive!

Loud but a super good blender
It is loud but so what? it does what it's supposed to. and it's a superior blender . I will come back and say more if i remember to , because not time now and haven't used it as much as will in days to come..but i will say it is super powerful even on low settings and that's what i wanted and i love the feature too that i also wanted where you put a smaller size container with smoother drink ingredients right on the base to whip up the smoothie and then take it with you (with a cover that comes with it) so you don't spend time pouring into the bigger blender container to make the smoothie and then into a cup or portable container to go with you. That's one reason i got this one and am happy with the quality of it and excellent instruction booklet. Great price too....maybe worth more. i have had lots of blenders all my life and this was my first choice for an new one with it's special features and all that it does do and can be used for and i believe it is right up there with the higher priced ones and every bit as good or better. To those having issue with the loudness of it...i would suggest .. let go of the noise issue...just make drinks when people are not sleeping (smile). or don't be afraid to disturb them for a moment or two, and when can make your drinks earlier, store in refrigerator for later if not want to disturb folks making them later. (or earlier). It is or should not be a big deal to create options that alleviate the noise issue so it doesn't have to be one. We are intelligent species that should be capable of that. And i think this product is worth it. and more. I think i read it lasts long time too and ones i had before did so....that's more important to me.

My love for this appliance is not just a summer fling.
I love this blender. I have been using a cheapo blender for years alongside my nutribullet machine for shakes. My children broke our blender recently and I could not have been more happy. I was on the search for a glass jar blender with more functions than my old one. I did not think I would use the smoothie function because I had a nutribullet. I read reviews all over the place before setting my mind on the Oster pro.We make a lot of shakes. We make our own salsa weekly. We blend our own green enchilada sauce. And we make a lot of Indian food and pulverize beans almost daily. So for pulverizing beans and making nut butters or nut milks - this machine exceeded my expectations. Nut milks are so much smoother and creamier with this blender.Salsa and veggie chopping - met or exceeded my expectations. I am so pleased with how our first batch of salsa turned out, that I decided to use this blender to also chop onions and peppers for Gobi Manchurian and my goodness did it cut our prep time and make those vegetables just perfect.Shakes - I was a die hard nutribullet girl, but there were certain things I did in the nutribullet that left me with large chunks or too many seeds. Blackberries in the nutribullet left a giant seed pile on the bottom of my glass. Hemp powder left a grainy consistency, as if it didn't mix well. I accepted these flaws. When I used the shake feature on here, my fist shake and strawberries, kale, and hemp hearts. There were almost no strawberry seeds present, they were pulverized, and everything blended so well, I could not wait to try more. I tried a blackberry shake and crossed my fingers, now there were a few seeds, but nothing like before. I was pretty impressed. As for counter walking, if you place your blender in a good location against a back or corner counter wall it doesn't walk. On occasion if I pull out to the middle of my counter, it walks. It might be my house, which is pretty doggone old (1860s) and slanty. I love the presets, you hit them, move on with your life and come back to perfection. I love the glass. Plastic is pretty yucky in my opinion. Glass is easier to clean and if I put hot soup or beans in the blender I don't have to worry about how many chemicals are leaching into my food. I would love it if a glass smoothie cups was available, but alas this one is plastic, but incidentally this cup has been easier to clean than my nutribullet mugs. The top of the blender jar is a plastic cover, which is okay. Overall I was pleased with my purchase, I highly recommend it, and have probably talked far more about my new blender to friends and family for this to be considered normal appliance admiration.
