The best sewing instructions I have ever seen!
The patterns are versatile, the book is well organized, love that each pattern is on its on page. Today, I made the Fortuna pants (sized up two sizes so I could use linen instead of a knit), and I was amazed. It’s a simple pattern, but I learned TWO new ways of doing things, just from this pattern. The waistband elastic insertion method was fabulous, and gathering the pocket corners to get them to fold just right is such a nice trick. I did adjust the waistband to make the seam enclosed (because I was using a woven fabric), and I cropped the length, but other than that I made no changes. I have been sewing since I was ten, and thirty years later I have to say that these were the BEST written instructions I have ever seen on a pattern. I am a Kenis Wong believer! The ONLY struggle I had was puzzling through the pattern sheet to try to find the pieces. Piece 10A was sort of hidden, but I found it eventually!

Kind of disappointing.
Was really excited to try the PDF patterns. Very disappointed to realize I had to use Adobe reader to print the patterns. I don’t own a PC and don’t plan to purchase one. I am usually able to use my tablet to do everything I need.

Great beginner patterns, lots for the price!
I am a fan of the author's individual pdf patterns, so bought this sight unseen. It looks great and the styles, which have no buttons or zippers, are beginner friendly. Note that the size range is 00 to 20, not the full range her other patterns have. Also these have no specific shaping by cup size as her other patterns do. There are some nice YouTube videos that take you through all the steps, by Lifting Pins and Needles and others. Available in hard copy or ebook. Both come with patterns: the ebook with pdfs, the hardcover with physical paper patterns.

Good designs with good instructions, but only one or two that I would want to make
Like the designs that the author sells on her Itch to Stitch website, these are well designed and come with excellent directions. The only design that I would definitely make is the pants and maybe one of the tops. If there had been a page with schematic drawings of all the designs, I probably wouldn't have bought the book because I would have seen how few of them I would make. I do think this would be a good book for a beginning sewist without an extensive pattern collection, and I will probably give it to my daughter or great-niece.

5/21 - paper patterns are in the physical book
I ordered this not knowing if I would get patterns. Because of all the confusion about patterns / downloads in the reviews I was not sure what to expect but I took a chance and ordered the book because I like the author's "classic - with a bit of flair" designs.I am happy to report that my hard copy of this book came ( 5/21) with an attached thick envelope of preprinted patterns. I will be sewing my adult daughter several wardrobe basics with patterns from this book. Thank you Kennis Wong !

Such a deal!
If all I received in this book were the patterns, it would be a great value, but it is a pleasure to read and has fantastic information. Itch-to-Stitch is well known and loved in the sewing community, so if you have not experienced Kennis Wong and her well drafted patterns, this book is a good primer for all this talented designer can do. Her instructions are clear enough for beginners, and her techniques clever enough to inspire experienced sewists.I purchased the kindle version and have not experienced any problems retrieving the patterns. Happy sewing!

Super Easy, Stylish Wardrobe Builder
Kennis hit her mark one again with her pattern designs. They are simple, yet stylish and can mixed and matched to build your own hand made wardrobe. The directions are very detailed so a beginner sewist would easily be able to make any of these pieces. I would like to see a page added to the book with all of the line drawings on one page and perhaps a few more pictures styling different views together in one spot as well, for inspiration. Lovely book! I will be using these patterns over and over again.

Good patterns, good value
I pre-ordered this book in the paper format, which (judging by the tracking) Amazon sourced from Germany to fulfil the pre-order, so thanks to Amazon for doing this as I don't think you can get the paper version in the UK at present. The book is aimed at those starting their sewing journey, so things like buttonholes and zips are avoided. In pandemic times this has the advantage of not having to source matching buttons and zips, so makes getting everything together much easier. There are a good selection of patterns for woven and knit fabrics, 4 tops/dresses, a skirt, joggers/shorts, a cardi and a wrap jacket.Unlike Itch to Stitch pdf patterns available online, different cup sizes are not included. I have made 3 items so far (Carlsbad cardigan, Mornington top and the Palermo top) and they all fit me fine with some ease. Experienced sewists with cup sizes of C/D may wish to consider an FBA on the Mornington top though. The patterns are printed on 4 sheets, with one on each side (8 patterns in total). This is good as it saves hunting through pattern sheets to find all the pieces you need. Inevitably the pattern lines overlap, which isn't a problem for most of the designs, but the page for the Fortuna joggers does look 'busy' and could be a bit confusing. The same colours and line styles are used to identify the different sizes as Itch to Stitch use in their pdf patterns, which I found helpful. So, overall, a useful book for those new to sewing, but also worth considering for experienced sewists who are looking for straightforward makes.

Worth the wait
I have made a number of the author's patterns and could not pass up the opportunity to get 8 patterns for the price of one. I was not disappointed and the e-book instructions are at the same standard as all the other patterns I have bought. There was a slight problem as the links to the pdf's were not included with the e-book. The Author worked very hard to resolve this issue and Amazon emailed the link to me within a few days.. It is a shame that Amazon let the Author down in such a way. I hope that this is the first e-book of many. The e-book does not deserve one star as I have seen some people have given it. It is Amazon which deserve the one star for not informing the purchaser of the problem.

Wonderful book & patterns
Can't complain when you can get 8 patterns for the price of 1! All instructions very clear with illustration and detailed explanation.NB - there is an issue with pdf pattern download. The publisher didn't include the link/password in the initial publication and the author has been working very hard with them to fix it. Please do not leave 1 star review because of this, as it is really not the Author's fault. The information will be delivered in an update to the book in the next couple of days, as promised by the publisher

Best Sewing Book I've read
I started sewing 7yrs ago and have bought a few sewing books and only sewed one pattern between them, this one I have sewn all of the patterns already (digital format) and bought the book for the paper instructions, It's a beautiful glossy quality book. You will love the patterns, there's something for everyone, woven or knit, and the patterns have interesting details and flattering fit that will appeal to intermediate sewers not just beginners.

Fab, but I thought there'd be pdf access too
It's fab, but I've made a mistake. I thought I'd have access to the pdf patterns, but I don't. I have the paper ones, but do I have to buy the kindle version as well to use 5he.pdf versions. I know this is a question within a review, but I couldn't find where to ask a question in the listing (there's usually a 'customer questions' section. '
