I used the sections appropriate for the countries I was visiting, and they proved to be extremely accurate and comprehensive. I would suggest this book if you are traveling to Africa.

For us older folks who can finally afford to travel but have limited vision......this book's TINY print is completely frustrating.....especially trying to read the tables and charts, maps, and captions in the book. There is a climate chart in the book that is impossible to read!The book may seem comprehensive but I find myself squinting even with reading glasses! Please offer a larger print edition for us older folks.......

I've owned every edition of this book since 1986 and just purchased the 9th edition. Unbiased, thorough information on the wildlife areas and accommodations. If you're trying to choose where to go from the myriad choices and the style of safari you want, this book should be your first stop.

I read through a great deal of the book while traveling, and was impressed by the depth of coverage and consistent format.The maps were particularly useful, as were details on the features of the camps that one could visit. I would recommend to anyone who is considering a safari trip or just wants to learn more about another part of the world.

Great book with a lot of useful information about the regions and lodges. The maps are very helpful and so are pictures with the descriptions. The book size makes it easy to take with you and does not take too much space. Looking forward to planning my trip African.
