K&N Cold Air Intake System: High-Flow Air Filter, Increase Performance & Towing: Compatible with 2013-2024 RAM: 1500, 77-1564KS

Installed this on my 2019 Ram 1500 Classic, was a direct fit... no issues. I can't really say how clear the instructions were since I didn't use them. I watched a YouTube video before I even purchased so I'd know what I was getting myself into. Installation took no more than 45 minutes (and that includes setting up the new parts and removing the old cleaner). Everything was very straight-forward and super easy.A tip on installing: Before you begin, thread the bolts into the holes (that attach the air scoop to the filter housing). Run them in a few good turns and then take them out before assembling the housing. I found that the holes are threaded, but it can be a little difficult to get the bolts started without first pre-setting those threads. Also, use an alan-head socket with an extension rather than a standard alan wrench (will make your life so much easier).I've only had the system installed for a few days but already I've noticed a fair gain in mileage and a small, but noticeable, gain in performance. The engine now has a distinct "growl" on acceleration, which isn't bad sounding but might be an issue for those wanting to keep their truck super-quiet.My one and only complaint has nothing to do with the product, but rather the packaging. Mine came in the K&N box, with a nice big orange and red "K&N" logo on the side. I live in the country and my letter carrier just loves to dump our packages out by the gate at the driveway (visible from the road). K&N is a pretty recognized brand, and it would be a tempting target for thieves with that big logo on there. This really falls on our letter carrier for being lazy... so no stars deducted for this. This is just a heads-up for anyone who might be in the same boat as me... you might want to request something special on packaging (like covering the logo, at the least).

I did not install this for performance reasons only. I now have unobstructed access to the oil filter canister cover. It is now possible to do an oil change without having to pull the clumsy air intake cover or risk breaking the fragile but expensive 2013 filter unit every oil change. The engine does have a nice growl to it when I lean into the accelerator and there seems to be some improvement to throttle response. Installation was reasonably straight forward except the mounting bolts did not line up with the new intake's airbox on my 2013 Ram V6. This required some gentle tapping with a ball-peen hammer and muscle to make it fit.

This filter system is freaking awesome. It sounds out of this world. Gas mileage has increased as well as the get up and go. It's worth the money.

This is my second K&N cold air intake. I bought one back in 02 for a 1998 Dodge Dakota R/T. I could feel the difference it made and it lasted me until January 2024 when I finally bought a new pickup. I bought a 2018 Ram 1500 Express with a V6 and it only had 14k miles on it. This was an easy install, directions were spot on and all the parts were included. There;s also a Youtube vidieo on how to do the installation that's worth a watch. I can feel better throttle response and accelleration and as others have noted it growls when you put your foot into it. This is K&N quality and I have no doubt this will last for years.

Easy to install. I have noticed a slight decrease in mpg, not enough to complain about, but understandable considering the more air you pull in, the more fuel is needed to compensate. Nice throaty sound when you get on the gas. And looks awesome too.

After opening box found the packaging was poor and parts were scratched, instructions ripped. Upon further inspection found that the main airbox is incorrect for application, Other parts appear correct.

I bought this to help with fuel mileage and some more horsepower on my 2023 ram 1500 classic. Was really easy to install and the instructions were very easy to follow. Did have one problem I did receive the wrong intake tube but a phone call to K&N took care of that they sent me a replacement that was correct and their customer service was fantastic. I would highly recommend it to anyone that has been looking at one.

Very easy to install if you're good with tools and makes the truck sound way better.

This K and N intake does more than advertised. I noticed an immediate gain in acceleration due to the increase in torque and horsepower. Truck runs great after install. It gives a really nice deep sound when accelerating too. Very happy with this intake.

Bought and installed a couple months ago. Immediately noticed the difference in sound, but only at higher RPM's and hard acceleration. Driving around town you're unlikely to notice the sound difference. If you stomp on the gas however, you'll get a much deeper roar and if you'll hit the classic WHOOSH sound as the throttle body opens up.No real difference in mileage, less than .5MPG variance from the stock. May have knocked a point off of highway driving but due to COVID I've been nearly 95% city miles and averaging around 17-18/mpg.In terms of value, it's not bad. You're basically paying for the sound, and I assume the SPECTRE would basically create the same. The fit is good, except there is space around the bottom of the box that is supposed to bolt onto the existing bottom-half of the CAI. The pipe can get a little warm, but I don't think the air is sitting in the system long enough to get hot so I'd take the "it's a hot air sucker" complaints with a grain of salt. Looks good under the hood, but I didn't dislike the stock system look either. Engine bay looks emptier now, and it was pretty empty before! If you're looking to boost the sound, have $400 to spend, and maybe notch a bit of acceleration improvements on the ol' butt dyno, it's a solid choice.

Well one end was bent to hell but worked out

There was no heat shield included with my package. However after a few days of getting in contact via email off the manufacturer's website, I got the heat shield and installed this kit without any issues whatsoever! At highway speeds over 90km/hrs I noticed there is a bit of whistling noise. I've decided to put some black duct tape to seal up the bottom of the heatshield against the body of the engine bay and hope that will solve the whistling at high speed. All in all, very satisfied with this engine mod! Thanks K&N!
