thē MOST expressive EQ I’ve used !!!
1st.. looks larger online, hence the photo.2nd.. with the 15 plus/minus db level, this can actually be used as an overdrive pedal also... very cool.Huge takeaway !!!100 plus memory storage ... great for a ton of instruments....going to try it on vocals... pull some of the deeper/darker tones out. This little firecracker can do whatever you want... deep dank sludge... ultra bright peaks... and all points in between...As for acoustic... holy guano !!! The tone you can dial in is amazing !!!!!Had the GT-1000... for as nice as that unit is, doesn’t even come close to this thing !!! Seriously !!! Full spectrum control... and I mean FULL SPECTRUM.Well worth the $ .... and.... it’s fun too... really fun. Discovering the amount of balancing used for some of the greatest recordings of all time. Will honestly say... you will love this thing. From live performances, to home jamming, to intricate recordings... top notch

Another great product from Boss
This pedal enable me to plug my electric guitar directly into a PA system and roll off the excessive low tones that the typical guitar amp does not have. It does require a powerful power-supply. Something like 300ma at least. They say only use a Boss power supply, but I believe that any power supply with the proper polarity and enough (500ma is plenty) works fine. The battery drains fast if you leave it on and forget to unplug the cable and turn it off — so be sure to buy a power supply along with it. This is a larger pedal, but it’s much easier to operate than the original Boss EQ which is a standard size — plus you get all of the presets.

One of the best tools for your pedalboard
Most EQs give you two settings: on and off. This gives you over 100 (128, I think), but it also lets you configure the pedal to advance through as many, or as few, presets as you like. For instance, I have it set up with four presets and the manual settings. I can tap through those five different EQ settings using the footswitch. You could, however, configure the pedal to allow you to tap through many more different settings before it scrolls back to number 1, again. This was a crucial feature, for me, since I use different EQ settings for different guitars with different pickups. It's easy to configure and save presets, has plenty of adjustment, plenty of gain, and is small enough for most pedalboards, even with 10 bands of EQ. The display shows which preset you've selected, then shows the "shape" of the EQ setting. You can tweak any preset, then save it with a couple of button presses. Great pedal, great price, so much functionality in a small package!

Boss/Roland products can't be beat.
This device is just outstanding in it's physical construction and functions exactly as I wanted. I've been playing guitar over 60 years. Besides setting nice overall wave forms using all frequencies, this processor can perform like a band pass filter or notch filter. In other words, I can completely slice out a very selective band or bands of frequencies with the slide controls. Imagine the Gibson ES 345, 355 6 position Varitone switch; a true notch filter. This Boss unit can equal and surpass the Varitone with almost endless notch variations. Talk about a "tone monster"; this is it. You really get what you pay up for with this unit. In addition, you can save your best adjustments in the memory bank for instant recall during playing. This unit can deliver you to your very own signature tone that you have always wanted. Then, just add the effects down the chain. I am totally happy with this Boss unit!!!

Great Option for Tweaking Your Tone.
I was a little apprehensive to purchase this based on the price ($250 +/-). But I am so glad I did. I am using this as a post eq and it has really done wonders on my tone. I play though a Line 6 240hc head and a Line 6 4x12 cabinet. I really love the Line 6 head but have never appreciated the sound of the Line 6 monitors. So I also run two Headrush frfr speakers. I've added the Boss EQ 200 between the Line 6 4x12 and the two Headrush monitors. And also patch the Line 6 240hc head as direct out into the Headrush monitors. The EQ has just totally woken this rig up. I am loving it. Go get one. Just remember. These don't create tones. They only tweak them.

BEWARE BAD COMPONENTS!!!!
IF I Could give this zero stars, I would. ZERO stars for durability. NEVER gigged, never left my board with isolated power, and already an LED for on/off is not working. Of course my ability to return it is past due by a month. CRAP quality by BOSS, was probably a refurbed/repaired unit and sold to me as new. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS! There are better alternatives out there! VERY Disappointed in Amazon, the seller, as well as the company who manufactured it!

Great EQ, love the Boss 200 line
I love the Boss 200 line. They're obviously a bit larger than standard pedals, but not so overly big as to be a problem for your board. Great EQ, lots of features and options, but also simply to use out of the box if you don't want to dig into all that. My one wish would be motorized sliders, but understand that that's what would end up breaking first.

Good but not great
I'm a working lead guitar player. I have always used BOSS GE-7's on my pedal board. I replaced one of my GE7's with this EQ and I dont like it. The analog GE7 may have a little "hiss", but the the old GE7's are warmer and easier to operate. This EQ is more difficult to operate and it makes my guitar sound too bright and not as warm. It's built well though
