I have two sons 8 and 10, one taller and leaner, one shorter and more muscularwe tried these, Franklin sliding shorts, Easton youth sliding shorts and Louisville Slugger shorts (all from Amazon)both my boys have a 25" waist and we tried the XL of these and they fit both boys.The waist is a good fit on them both, and the legs are looser.I am hoping the elastic will stretch a little this season so they can wear them again for baseball next year too.The packet says this fits a 28-30" waist but I think that would be a very uncomfortable fit. I measured the elastic waist band lying flat on the floor and it is 24-25" and doesn't seem to have much stretch.The best selling point for these over the other brands is the cup pocket. It is wider and easier to get the cup into, and it is sewn to curve inside the shorts and follow the shape of the cup up and around. Both my boys preferred how their cups fit and how snug they felt against them as opposed to the other shorts where the cup kind of hung down the front of the shorts.XL size came with a teen size cup which looks BIG on my 8 year old, but he can fit a wider cup there. My 10 year old who is thinner thought the teen cup was too big and is wearing a smaller cup which fit great in the pocket too.

I bought these for my son to wear during martial arts. He says they fit great and are comfortable. Like other reviewers have said, sizing was difficult. I went to the Shock Doctor site and found the sizing chart. The boys XL is a 28-30 waist which is about the same as a boys 14-16 pants/shorts. I think they are the same size as the adult S but a little cheaper in price. I've found that to be true with many boys items when you are buying the largest size in the boys department!

Cup came with the shorts which could be a bonus to some. To big of a cup for my son to use right now. Maybe when he gets his growth spurt but idk if he will still fit the shorts by then hence the 4 stars. He likes the fit of the shorts n says it’s comfortable. He plays baseball 12u n he is pretty picky on these shorts so I was kinda surprised I picked a winner lol. I will probably order these again but without the cup.

First, let me say that we have been looking for a pair of compression shorts with the cup included that he wouldn’t mind wearing for several games in a day! This past weekend he wore these shorts and cup and was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they were! He said it wasn’t like he was even wearing a cup!

Excellent protection It fits correctly, I'll recommend for better comfort to buy always a bigger size than the one you usually wear.

The cup sits rather high when inserted in the fabric as intended. The bad fit defeats the purpose of the garment. Still usable individually.

I was surprised my son even agreed to try these because they are different and not what he is used to but after explaining to him the benefit of this and how it wold feel he agreed right away to try it. He plays baseball and previously his jock shorts were the tighty-whity shorts. He was very happy with this and loves wearing them even when not playing.

Pedí talla Extra Grande, así me llegó pero me queda demasiado mapretado (mido 1.88 y peso 84 kilogramos, gordo no soy) toda mi ropa es XL, bueno en suspensroio podria pasar quiza con las lavadas y uso agrade, pero el protector e sun asco... es m,uy pqueño para ser "XL" peus que clase de genitales tienen los modelos de estos protectores? desconozco si me esposible devolver el producto.antes usaba protector de marcqa corriente, talla Grande" y me quedaba perfecto.
