Ashdown Studio 8 1x8" 30-watt Bass Combo Amp

Needing a budget minded yet quality practice combo bass amp, I looked at the usual budget friendly brands and stumbled across this Ashdown Studio 8 30w combo bass amp on special for $99.99. I did my due diligence and found it at most retailers new for around $180. I snatched this up and with my credits and discounts It came out to $92 lock stock and barrel. A fantastic bargain and a fantastic piece of gear. Huge upgrade in quality of build and sound. Made in China, big deal. Still sounds great. Looks great and can get loud. Versatile and takes my RP360XP I use as a pedal platform for it very well and the speaker can take the gain and volume boosts. Great deal and a great combo bass speaker.

The package arrived damaged, and there's a dent in the amp cabinet in the same area as the damage. If the amp sounded amazing, I maybe could've lived with the damage, as I got it on sale for about half what this amp normally costs. Sadly, it doesn't sound good at all, even as a headphone practice tool. I tried it with a Fender P with a passive EMG Geezer Butler pickup, and an Ibanez with an EMG PJ set and BTS system pre-amp, and was sorely disappointed. So back in the box, and back to Amazon it goes.

Gor a great clear tone, easy to use and I love the ability to plug in headphones while having the speaker muted or unmuted so you can hear yourself in your head in case you can't hear yourself over the band. It spits out a lovely tone and has alot of power in a portable package. I love this thing and would buy again

Great sounding amp, the tone is nice and rounded, good range of tones can be shaped. Bit disappointed that it was actually made in China, took the edge of the purchase, would gladly pay more for an item made in the UK.

If Electric plug is smaller, it is perfect. I have to buy a adopter.
