New Chair Mat for Carpet Floor Low Pile Office and Home Use Thick and Sturdy Transparent Desk Chair mat for Carpets Size 36" X 48" with Lip

This was the perfect size I needed for my home office. The little spikes underneath are great for carpeted surfaces. There’s little grooves on the top that stop the chair from rolling on it’s own. It comes rolled up, I put it in the sun for a few hours to heat it up and even it out.

The media could not be loaded. Very happy with this chair mat to use with my rolling chair. It’s heavy, thick, durable and fits the desk perfectly. It’s transparent and not very noticeable on the floor. It has nice “teeth” underneath to grab into the carpet and hold the mat in place. It does arrive curled up in the box but within minutes of laying it down it is flat. See my video to see how mine looked five minutes out of the box. Highly recommend.

It was a short wrestling match to uncurl the mat. Once on the floor, I simply put my chair on it and got to work. By the end of the day, the constant rolling around with my full weight on the chair, flattened out the mat. The next day it still remained flat on the floor. So no need to place books and other weights on it and then waiting for it flatten out before using the mat. Just use it.Although the mat does lie flat, I see now -- after a month of daily use -- that it frequently shifts out of position. I measured the depth of my carpet's pile and it is within the recommended thickness. Yet, the teeth do not seem to be long or sharp enough to grab into the carpet. It is starting to become a bother.The smell was very strong at first. By the end of the day it was faint. The next day fainter still. Being summer, I had my window open and a fan running. So it may take longer if you buy this during colder seasons. In my case, it took about a month before the smell was barely noticeable.As others pointed out, using the mat does leave dimples from the weight of the chair wheels. But the plastic has some elasticity to it. The next day, I saw that the mat returned to its flat shape. When I sat on the chair again, there was -- as can be expected -- a depression underneath the wheels. But these dimples flattened out much quicker as I moved around. So it seems that there is a bit of a "breaking in" period for the mat.Having had experience with chair mats before (though not from this particular manufacturer), I expect that over the years, the plastic on this mat will dry out and will eventually crack from the constant dimpling.It's made in China as so many products seem to be nowadays. My mat did arrive with a crack on one of the edges, which I am assume occurred from either transport or the questionable quality control checks at some of these Chinese facilities. It was returned and exchanged for another from the same manufacturer as -- despite the crack -- the product (so far) seems pretty good and at a low price. But the shifting is becoming a nuisance.

I was Leary of buying a desk chair pad for my carpet b/c the reviews of so many indicated the one they had purchased was flimsy. This one is not flimsy. It is sturdy, has grips and looks great. Just what I was looking for!

Seller provided resolution to the issue though.Second Updated Review: After two months of use I have to admit with use of the mat over the carpet it dented with indents of the chairs and it also cracked on edges. Its really difficult to move around the chair while sitting. It also curled up on one side causing hazard to fall. I am discarding off. BEWARE!!! If are planning to use over the carpet, do not waste your money on this product.Goodbye to fatigue of sitting long hours on office chair on carpet floor to work remotely without being able to move chair freely around. This mat is a game changer as it made my life simple with efficient solution to lay over this thick mat on carpet floor and be able to move freely around, while sitting on my chair around large table. I am really liking it with only caveat that it leaves chair imprints after sitting on chair for long hours continuously and then slowly fading away. So far so good!

Will come rolled up more than likely a let me tell u if you’re not a young strong person you’ll probably struggle getting it to break its form. That joker even gave me a cut on my thumb from the edge not their fault but if this is for your wife or even grandparents differently loan out your hands. Probably needs about a good 10-20 pound placed down on it evenly to get it to flatten out. 9/10

A complete and utter waste of money. I don't know what those other reviewers received but it could not have been this highly inferior product. After ONE day of use, my chair left dents in this thing (caused by the rollers) that almost went all the way through it. It makes moving the chair highly difficult.My last mat came from a large office supply store and lasted three years. AND, it didn't cost much more than this mat. This won't last very long at all. A waste of time and money.

I realize that a mat this size has to be shipped rolled, and this is an observation, not a complaint. Once it came out of the box, it was rolled so tightly as to be almost impossible to unroll and weigh down to flatten. It took 5 boxes of books (and the fact that I had them says something about my place) to hold it down, and about 12 hours before I could use it. However, once flattened it works great and my chair rolls smoothly. I give it 4 stars on durability because I have only had it less than a week and have no idea how long it will last.
