It fixed the shifter problem on my 2004 F-150....I always try to use Motorcraft parts on my Fords.

Bought this for my 07' F150. After looking at many off brand parts I decided to try to stick to Motorcraft as much as reasonably possible. Bought this part and it arrived packaged well and was super simple to install.

Great Ford part and I''m sure I'll get many years of service. If you are on the fence about spending the money because you aren't sure if this will fix your problem, pull the old switch out, pop the snap on cover off and inspect the contacts. One is for the brake light and the other is for the park release. Park release is what my problem was. That contact was pitted. I probably could have filled it down and got a few more months out of the old switch but now I have piece of mind. Since it is fairly easy to change the switch, I would probably go with the cheaper $17 switch versus the $45 dollar Ford switch if I had it to do over again.

I don't know if it is an issue with my vehicle or the switch, but I have replaced this switch twice now in the past few years. Knocking off a star because of it. The switch has two sets of contact points inside it. (Like distributor points in pre electronic ignition vehicles) Each time I replaced this switch, I found one set of points that was burned.

It works and its OEM Motocraft.

Old switch was giving out and not always triggering the taillights.New switch corrected it. Literally JUST barely touch the breaks, and the break lights come on.
