Luckily, yes. I found this answer on Amazon.com: I emailed TOMY to ask about this. Here is their response: "Our toys are designed to avoid the use of BPA and it is not included in our products. Q: Why are these described as both suitable from 1 year and not suitable under 36 months?

My granddaughter plays with a toy similar to this and she isn't a year old until April. Perhaps they consider the zig zag edges of the eggs to be too sharp though I haven't found this. Although I haven't given this to my granddaughter yet I was not impressed with it. The eggs are supposed to squeak but hardly do so without real effort. I bought this because the reviews were good but I wouldn't recommend it.

I purchased these for my daughter when she was 12 months old and she loved them. As she grew older she moved them into her play kitchen!! We had many years of use from these.
