I love the taste of these and the fact that they are so nutritious and low in saturated fat. This is a great option if you are trying to eat anything other than white rice and do not like brown rice. They have sort of a curry type flavor, which I like. Pears well with just about any other type of meat that you can think of and a great addition to a healthy diet.

Quick and Easy for those busy days, and very filling

Pretty good. I bought a couple of boxes as I assumed I would like them, and I do. I appreciate the real ingredients.I love lentils, and will buy them in any format that looks good- dry bags, pre cooked, seasoned, unseasoned, canned. These are lightly season, precooked, and ready to eat. Either heat them up (stovetop or microwave) or eat them cold. Good flavor either way.Because of the cumin and slight taco-esque flavoring, I prefer this Sofrito flavor profile paired with rice and or used in tacos or burritos. Would make for a nice quick "dip" by running a pack of these lentils through a food processor.Ingredients: Water, lentils, tomatoes, onion, bell peppers, olive oil, sea salt, garlic, ground cumin, ground annatto seeds, natural cilantro flavor.

FILLO's Cuban green sofrito beans are super tasty. They have an original home cooked/restraunt taste that I really dig. They put some time and care into these beans. They are tender, packed with flavor and very easy to incorporate into all types of dishes. You can also stuff your face on the fly and eat straight out of the bag if you want! The cuban green is easy on the palate, it's not spicy but has great depth with hints of garlic, and light hints of onion and cumin and I think this is where that cuban green comes into play. They puts some zing into black beans that's for sure, love this recipe they've put together. Canned beans from the grocery store do not taste good for the most part. Especially, the blacks. The bag really helps make for a more pleasant flavor and ease of use. I think cans ruin what little flavor most of your run of the mill black beans have to begin with. They simmer them in olive oil according to the recipe notes on the bag. I think that helps maintain the soft texture and really locks in the flavor and compliments the spices. I have been keeping Fillo's in the cupboard at my house and have since abandoned run of the mill beans from the grocery store. I think this is the future of beans, and Fillo's isn't overpowering the receipes so I think standalone they're great and of course if you want to go bannanas you can add your own twist if you want to spice them up and dress them up or down... Whenever we go on trips the bag makes for a nice portable treat while on the road (camping, airports, road trips) as all you need is a spoon. I have been mixing them with eggs, tacos, fajitas and often as a stand alone side dish. we love to mix with pork dishes as well. The sky is the limit. I've been doing nachos lately b/c I think they do great with tortilla chips, cheese, sour cream and pico. I hope they start carrying these in Texas grocery stores. I feel the packaged bean scene is lackluster down here and really excited to be able to have these original, home made in the USA beans delivered to my front door.
