Fit was great and sounds like factory exhaust.
Oem muffler was done!!! Fit and function was spot on!! Works great. How long it will last is unknown. Doubt it will last as long as factory muffler ,which I was unable to find.

Muffles sound.
Installed on my 2000 4.0 Cherokee. Sounds similar to the Chrysler one it replaced.

If you use the 2 1/4" like it calls for it sounds loud
I think it's quite. But you have to use a 2 1/2" tail pipe. If you use the 2 1/4" like it calls for it sounds loud. i had both on my jeep. I went back to the 2 1/2" tail pipe.

Misleading: NOT A Direct Replacement
The original exhaust system in my Jeep had a center inlet/offset outlet style muffler. The outlet was positioned to the right (passenger) side of the muffler. The muffler was clamped to the exhaust pipe in front and the tailpipe was welded to the muffler. On my vehicle the original muffler had a leak, but the rest of the exhaust system was just fine. My intention was to replace the only defective part, the muffler, and reuse everything else. Amazon's website leads one to believe this is a direct fit: "Precise OE-style routing and hangar positions". It also says "100% structural stainless steel construction".The muffler arrived in a box in perfect condition. Prior to any work we measured the muffler length and the diameters of the inlet and outlet. All was great. We removed the leaking muffler, positioned the new one and welded the original tailpipe to the outlet. When checking for leaks we discovered a small hole at the front of the muffler that looked intentional. Why would there be a hole on the top?Curious, I called Walker customer service and was told "Our website recommends you replace your tailpipe with our part number 55593 which is designed to put the muffler outlet toward the center of the vehicle and doing so rotates the muffler 180º placing the .120 drain hole at the bottom". When I mentioned the Amazon website's description he basically couldn't care less. Interestingly the muffler has a crimped seam running the length of the muffler on one side. Logically one would orient the muffler so the open part of the seam would be toward the bottom so it wouldn't retain water. With the drain hole down that puts the open side of the seam up?So if you intend to reuse your tailpipe, you should probably weld up the "drain hole . Or you could spend an extra $45.00 and replace your tailpipe. But the only way to get the so-called "Precise OE-style routing..." is to modify the muffler by welding up the drain hole. Oh, the inlets and outlets aren't stainless steel, either.

I guess poor quality control
This part is what the book called for but was the same size as the pipes. Very frustrating and disappointing. This is the second muffler of the same manufactur. I guess poor quality control.
