Well worth the money
Looking at the price, I was a bit skeptical about the quality but once I got it in my hands all doubts left. This is a quality product and does exactly what a CAI is supposed to do. It even looks great doing it's job. The CAI sits firmly in the old air filter box location is is held in place by the clips that are already there from the old air filter housing. The install only took 30 minutes and that was because I was enjoying my favorite adult beverage at the same time. After the install I went on a long test drive and was pleasantly surprised at the fantastic low rumble it puts out if you press firmly on the gas pedal. Normal driving doesn't raise any additional noise but if you're passing a car or just step on it you'll notice a low roar that puts a smile on your face. Definitely worth the money.

Who writes your instructions? Rough!
Okay I have a 2014 Ford F-150 XLT. The package arrived in good shape. I opened it up and was real disappointed when it came to the instructions. The instructions had black and white photos and the photos were dark and so you couldn’t see what they were illustrating. The writing described the part to use next but the parts list, doesn’t show pictures of the part and so since you can’t see the picture that well and don’t know what part you’re grabbing, you then have to go to you tube and watch 2-3 videos and then you can figure it out. Some of the assembly and parts used is common sense on where they go, but part of the assembly requires more than the instructions tell you. I installed it just under an hour. After the install, I wasn’t too happy that the shield box that sits onto the factory air box is real loose and I’m not sure if it matters for performance or air flow , but it just seems like it should be a better fit. I don’t think it’s noisy at all but does have a nice sound to it when you punch it! However I bought this in hopes that it would improve my gas mileage. Before the air intake, I was getting 15.1 to 15.4 miles to the gallon. I have the 5.0 liter 302 V8. After the install, I seem to be getting about 16.7 to 16.9. However that was with me taking it real easy on the gas pedal. I will give it another 30 days and update the mileage. If I can get 1 to 1.5 miles more per gallon, I’d be pleased. That would save me roughly $20 to $24 per month in gas at the rate in which I fill up my tank 3 times a month at $3 avg per gallon. My only advice for the manufacturer or seller is to have the manufacturer work on improving their instructions.

Good bang for buck
Great kit for the money, everything looks and feels good, great quality for the money, installed in less then 30 minutes, makes a great sound with a stock exhaust definitely noticed better throttle response all in all would definitely recommend if you want to pretty up the engine bay and add some good sound to the motor, I don't really expect much of a milage boost if thats what your looking for get a tuner otherwise this product is great for what it is!

1/5
Looks good did come in late but one of the vaccine lines on pipe was broken. Didn’t want to send back because it was already late getting to me. Have put many air intakes on many vehicles this one was very easy don’t really need instructions but the ones they send are horrible. Gave 1 star due to the figment was off but made it work and being broken.

Great product. Worth it
Installation was not very clear but easy to figure out. Quality material and defiently gave the car more engine sound. Gas milage really didn't change much but getting up to speed is much easier. Had some trouble with the filter staying on but I forced it over the lip that it mounts to and it never came off again.

Buy a better kit
It’s worth to spend the extra money to buy a real kit. This looks good. It fits good, but the worm clamps come apart and don’t hold. Once I tighten them, they only last about two days and they fall off of my filters off.

You will not be disappointed with Spectre
So you are trying to decide which air intake to purchase OR if you should purchase at all. I was the same way. Spectre is owned by K&N. That says a lot right there! The price point is acceptable. There are certain performance parts that demand a high cost. That should not be true for basically a tube, some clamps and a filter. This is an excellent kit. Installed on my 2012 Ford F-150 5.0. Good performance increase. Sound is amazing. It did not throw any check engine codes. Factory engineers are held back by three things, cost, quietness and efficiency. Performance people are not concerned with any of the three. This is a good upgrade. You will not be disappointed with the Spectre.

gas mileage
As in previous reviews of the intake, the sound is the most notable. To dampen it I had to add a thin layer of insulation to the bottom edges of the filter box to make it fit tighter. There is also a need to twist or bend the hoses to fit the sensor on the intake tube. Fits a little awkward.Cruising around town I did experience a slight increase in mpg. But on the road, traveling at 55mph and above there is a noticeable decrease in fuel efficiency. There is an increase in power, seems to get up to speed noticeably faster but again that is at the cost of less fuel efficiency.I will have a qualified mechanic check the computer settings, an increase in air flow may be throwing the mph off.Easy to install, albeit with a little modifications, impressive sound, but decrease in fuel efficiency makes this a so-so purchase.
