What is the data speed? Will it be reduced after reaching certain amount of use?

Hello, Deployment of the 4G LTE network in Israel was launched about a year ago, but according to data just released from OpenSignal on February 2016, Israel is ranked 4th when it comes to browsing speeds and the average download speed of LTE in Israel, stands at 28 Mbps (megabytes per second). Since the 4G LTE network in Israel is currently being deployed around the country, only about half of Israel has LTE coverage. For example, Cellcom`s 4G LTE network in Israel, used by NES Mobile, covers about 44% of the network with 4G LTE, while the rest of the network is still 3G or 3.5 G. On average it's about 24 Mbps for 4G, and around 9 Mbps for 3-3.5G. Currently the SIM card plans do slow you down after 5GB, but the Data plans for the Pocket Wifi have unlimited data. Can i still use my regular phone number from the usa in israel?

No. You will get a new Israeli cell phone number from Nes Mobile. However, for a small fee you could also order a Virtual USA number, and then simply forward the calls your regular phone number to the virtual usa# so it will ring on your Israeli SIM card.

What is the advantage of buying this rather than just going directly though nes mobile?

It was back in 2015 when I used NES services. Each time I go to Israel they have newer and better choices. So, I am afraid I don't have an opinion on this. My apologies.

Buy the NES Mobile card direct from NES

Eventually the Nano SIM Card from NES Mobile worked out well, but it would have been easier to get started if I had bought it directly from the NES Mobile web site, When I contacted them about activating the card after I had bought it on Amazon the left hand did not seem to know anything about the right hand; it was hard to get across that I already had the card and just needed it activated instead of what to them apparently is more usual - buying it from them first and then picking it up at the airport in Tel Aviv. Thus getting set up with NES Mobile was more difficult than it would have been had I initially contacted them directly from their own web site.

Got the job done.

Make sure you register and everything on the website right when you get this. It makes it easier to activate once you get to Israel. Everything worked fine while I was there, data and voice.

Great cell coverage for a trip to Israel

Easy way to phone away from home
