Beata Heuman: Every Room Should Sing

This book has beautiful images. Beata has wonderful, eclectic style and always selects beautiful colors. The images in this book are very similar to the portfolio for her studio online. I was disappointed that there wasn’t more sourcing information other than her bespoke studio for her project designs. For example, there are no suggestions or listings of paint colors or where fixtures were procured. A lot of the pieces that she uses are vintage, which is difficult to source. I wish there had been an index of references material similar to The Finer Things. The book is very aspirational and creative, and provides that eclectic English garden house with Scandinavian sensibility for a maximalist approach. I appreciate the designs in smaller scale homes rather than what is depicted in American interior design books: Dallas or Salt Lake City McMansions!

i wanted to love this book. i preordered it in so much anticipatory excitement. i generally like Heuman’s work; it is not my taste but it is delightful, and there are many details that i feel i could copy for my space. the book fell flat for me. there are a few interesting points but overall it is rather bland to read. it feels much more like a marketing brochure for her studio’s work and line of products than an insightful take on interior design.

Have followed Beata for a minute now and her book is lovely! Agree with the other review as this isn’t a book for application but more for learning her philosophy on living and interior design. Hoping in the future she will launch a work with more practical guidance say on having a custom fabric cut to make a window shade or how to adhere fabric that is not wall paper to a wall. Lovely book for inspiration all the same.

Beautiful and fun book. Excellent mix of High/Low and bright colors without feeling too young, pretentious or stuffy. I love the aesthetic and look forward to more of her work in the future.

So love this book. Besides the great pictures and ideas it’s a must have if you’re into designing or just making a wonderful home. Very insightful.

Beata has a unique style that makes this book a pleasure to read. Her attention to detail lifts her designs from wonderful to sublime!

Beautiful and inspiring book. Originally bought this as a present for someone and couldn’t bear to give it away so had to buy another one! Beautifully put together with gorgeous pictures. It’s also well written and informative as well as inspiring. Each chapter covers a different project and covers the brief, challenges and objectives which was really insightful and useful for approaching your own projects and ideas. The overall tone is one of individuality and having fun and has certainly given me the confidence to be braver and enjoy the process!

Beata is such an inspiration, and she shares her design process in this book. It’s a really fascinating read and an insight into how all these amazing interiors are achieved. The best interiors book I’ve read.
