KartboyShort Throw Shifter Made for the 2002-2007 Subaru WRX

I opened the package and was disappointed because there was literally the short throw shifter and nothing else and to top it off it looked used.. when I installed it and used the old stuff along with it my expectations were extremely low and I thought it was money wasted. The first time shifting into gear sent excitement through my entire body! The shifts are absolutely perfect, smooth and a lot shorter than the oem shifter. I was extremely disappointed with the customer care but the performance just blows it out of the water! Well worth the money for the happiness I felt!

Fit great in my 2004 Subaru impreza. One thing to keep in mind if you have never installed one of these is that you will need to literally hammer it into your transmission. There are online videos out there for Subaru Kartboy Shifters out there that are meant for Subarus with a reverse lockout. Those shifters are not like this one. The only parts that will need to be transferred are the bearings but other than that, make sure you have a rubber mallet to bang it into your transmission. It takes some brute force but it is worth it in the end. Would recommend this product.

This was a great improvement over the stock shifter throw and I really enjoyed the change. Clutch shift pattern took a drive or two to adjust to...Installation was a little tricky but overall it took me about 2 hours. Frustration was slightly present while installing... I had to remove and file a bit of the surround down around the shift lever which was simple enough, however it was pretty hard to get the new short shifter lever into place after popping out the old one, you have to hammer it with a piece of wood on top very hard to drive it into place. From there its a breeze. I do recommend this SS to WRX owners looking to change their ride a bit.

A few stiff hits with a hammer are needed to seat it and you're ready to go. It's like driving a new car. The throw is positively noticeable and improved.

I expected at least a noticeable difference in the length of throw, but was unable to feel any difference compared to stock... It looks better than the stock shifter, but u never see it anyways, so that doesn't really matter. Probably would have been better to put that money towards something more worthwhile. Installation was pretty easy though - took about 20 mins!

Perfect fit and amazing shifting on my 02 wrx get it now it's a must

It is advertised as fitting an 02 wrx. however, it does not fit my 02 wrx. I will be returning

Kind of dissatisfied, too wide for my 05 wrx shift linkage. Had to bend the linkage a little in order to get it to fit. However once I had it installed it took and inch off the throw length between 1st and 2nd gear
