Bird-X Balcony Gard Ultrasonic Bird Chaser 900 Sq. Ft. Pigeons & More

I purchased one of these last August. I have it placed on my covered front porch in the back corner, at a 45 degree angle in order to effect the entire front porch, which is 7ft x 8ft. and it is no longer effective. I wrote to the manufacturer explaining that I was unhappy with having to replace the unit after only 8 months of use. The following is their response:"So if you wanted me to replace the one bought in August, I wouldn’t be able to since our warranty are for 6 months. Also remember that the Balcony Gard is a very directional unit meaning that you would have to place it directly where the problem is. I suggest trying to place the Balcony Gard in the corner facing outward and elevating it a bit that way it covers 3 feet below and 3 feet above."The distance between where I have the unit placed and the area which is now covered with bird poop is about 6 1/2 ft, at the same level.I can't recommend this productSince, when I first bought this item several years ago, it worked very well for several years, I decided to give it one more try. I received a new unit last week. I placed it in the corner of the porch, settings on high, aimed directly at the area which the birds seem to like, and turned it on. By the next day (and almost every day since), there is new bird poop on my porch.I don't know how their technology was changed, but as far as I'm concerned, this was a waste of money.

I have been using this device since May 2026. I decided to wait three months before writing this review to give an honest, time-tested opinion, and honestly, it has been a total success. The unit completely eradicated the pigeons from my balcony. I no longer have to deal with the dirt and droppings from such a contaminating animal. The best part is that it works without any annoying noises for humans, so there are no sound disturbances at home. Now we can finally enjoy our balcony in peace and with total cleanliness. We are so happy to be free of that pest. 100% recommended!

This items does NOT do what it says it's suppose to do. I simply plugged this unit into an electrical outlet on my deck and pointed it in the direction where birds congregate on my deck. This machine shows a little RED light and appears to give the illusion that it's working and doing something. I don't hear any sounds or see any movements, either. I've had this unit for the last 2 months and monitored the activities of the birds. There are literally no TREES in my yard or power cable present, so the Birds don't have any place or area to sit on. However, my deck rails seems to extend an invitation for birds to come and hang out. Hence forth, the reason why I purchased the Ultrasonic Bird Repeller. To my big disappointment the birds are still coming and taking a crap on my deck. The birds don't seem to be phased by the presences or use of the Ultrasonic Repeller device. This items does NOT do what it says it's suppose to do. What a waste of money. I will escalate the returning bird problem with a another remedy.

Ordered this out of desperation. I was so tired of birds on our gutters and roof area that constantly left droppings everywhere. We could not keep our cars clean. It was a waste of time and money to wash them. All over our driveway as well. We also had ground critters; like rabbits digging holes, skunks ripping the lawn, moles.Since installing this we have had zero problems. Our cars are staying clean, no birds at all, no droppings on roof or ground. No critters. I am impressed. I have put this on the highest setting. I had no place to actually mount it, so it sits near the front door facing out. Makes zero noise.

This review is from my personal experience having this product for only a few days. I bought the Bird-X Balcony Gard hoping to keep pigeons and blackbirds off my back patio. Setup was easy, and I appreciate the motion-sensor activation. It does seem to deter some birds, but not all—particularly the more stubborn ones. The ultrasonic frequency is silent to humans, which is great, but its effectiveness seems hit-or-miss depending on the species. I noticed a slight reduction in bird activity, but they still linger occasionally. For the price, I expected a bit more consistency. It’s a decent option if you want some kind of deterrent, but don’t expect a miracle solution. It is essential though to prop it at least 3 feet from the ground. Initially I only put it about 1 foot and it didn't work at all.

I live on the 17th floor and pigeons have been ruining my terrace... my outdoor carpet..and my patio furniture... thank goodness I have covers...otherwise the damage would be worse. Last year - pigeons laid an egg under my chairs and unfortunately after reading many web pages - I took heed and discarded the egg. I felt awful doing it - but didn't want the situation to become worse..WELL! those same pigeons returned again this year - and the assault on my outdoor space has been constant. They fly in at 5:30am and continually through the day... trying to nest..and mate... bringing leaves...and twigs... I have many terraces above mine and to the side - which are neglected...but thankully I have someone at home to help shoo them off - but who want's to shoo pigeons all day? - Went on vacay for 1 week - and nearly cried upon return to see the mess that was left. I ordered the scare tape - IT DOESNT work. I ordered plastic spikes and installed on the ledge - I thought it worked for a few days - but NOPE- those buggers FLEW OVER the spikes and had a hayday all over the place - and I've personally watched them carefully fly over the spikes. NYC pigeons are not normal. They are beasts.Plugged this in - and it has been 5 days total - with not ONE pigeon on my terrace.. nor next door to the attached terrace *which they often frequent.. nor the one above mine... So I'm PRAYING this keeps working. The spikes are still glued to my ledge... the scare tape is still taped all around - making my well decorated terrace look like a shanty town.. but oh well... anything to keep them far!I have the setting on LOW....and its plugged into an outdoor socket.I recommend this....I don't hear a buzzing sound... perhaps I'm deaf after having a son and listening to crying.. but I don't hear what other reviewers discuss below.. perhaps on HIGH - it will be more audible. If I'm attacked again - I will update you guys.

We have flocks of Grackles that frequently visit our neighborhood and eat the next-door neighbor's dog food. They're making a total mess of our pool patio and fence, so we decided to buy two of these based on the reviews we read on Amazon. So far, the only thing they keep away is the kids. The sound is extremely irritating to folks still having youthful high pitch hearing, but they have no effect on the birds whatsoever. It may be the species of bird that is the reason, or just the fact that these devices do not work. Money wasted, unfortunately. We've told our neighbors about the problem and suggested to them that their method of feeding their dog is the reason, but they've taken no action and we still have bird$h** all over our backyard.

My original review is below but, sadly, is no longer valid. These devices worked fine for 2 weeks but it seems the birds got used to the noise and are now back as bad as ever. While I once recommended these highly, I withdraw that view. I think our next effort will be one of those blow up clowns that flop around and attract attention to car washes.***************************************************We bought this device to scare away the hordes of quail that were descending on us daily and making a big mess. We tried other devices that supposedly would keep these birds away. None of them worked. So, with a lot of skepticism, we decided to try once more never really believing that anything would help.Within 2 days, the quail stopped coming and haven't returned. We bought a second unit and aimed it in another direction and the birds stopped coming there, too. Even a squirrel that was eating plants in our flower pots disappeared. We haven't had any of these pests in a week now!The units makes no noise that humans can hear. I don't know about household pets because we don't have any. As for getting rid of birds, I remain astonished and delighted. I am writing this review because this manufacturer deserves a compliment. I'm giving this product 10 thumbs up! I'm a real buyer and no one gave me or promised me anything to write this review.

Product was of poor quality. Did not fulfil functions that it was meant to do.

We have been troubled by House Martins nesting in our open garage; I had already tried steel netting on the purlin and so was pretty desperate. The item looks like something made up at home from bits bought at Radio Shack. I wish I had seen the research that suggested that birds are troubled by ultra-sonic noise, as my friends must be deaf. If it works at all then, if you can hear the sound, perhaps maybe some birds can also. You twiddle a knob at the back until it is at its loudest. Being an enclosed space you might expect this product to work better. The IR detector can see me approaching pretty easily but while set in this mode, every bird in the neighbourhood seemed to visit, presumably without triggering, so it is now set permanently on. This means that we have now only the odd 6-8 birds messing up the cars.Over time the pitch of the noise changes so it needs to be adjusted frequently. If it were £20, it might be worth a punt; at this price it is just too expensive to try.As a back-up plan, I also bought a large decoy Falcon; that is not effective either.Perhaps birds are just not as dumb as we humans are gullible.

Can't get started, dc ac current changer does not work,Got 4 C batteries, now its light is onAdapter was given but not converter, searching.
