can i use this keyboard as a USB midi controller?

No. From reviewing the Yamaha site, and looking at pictures of all features, there is no midi-out.

What kind of ac/power chord is suitable for this model?

It uses a USB Micro connection for power. Pretty much any USB Micro charger / adapter should work. I normally use an old phone charger, but I've even powered it by plugging into my PC's USB port.

Does it change octaves?

Yes - it can shift up or down one octave from the standard setting. The octave buttons are below the display.
