Worth purchasing
I absolutely love this book. It’s very well written and so helpful to a new cut flower gardener. There are plenty of beautiful pictures and a whole section dedicated to other companies who supply items needed to get you started on your journey!

Takes the guesswork out of growing, super informative!
Growing Flowers quickly became my favorite flower book by far. I own many of the popular floral books out right now, but this one outshines them all. This book is full of actual how to's, and includes useful practical knowledge that anyone can use. From a home garden to a beginning flower farmer (like me) or even an experienced grower/designer. I am so glad I purchased, I was hesitant because I have so many floral books, but SO glad I purchased. The photographs in this book are gorgeous as well. Highly recommend.

I wanted to love it …
I really really want to love this book, but there are just some things that really affect my opinion of it.1) The three climate zones. I understand not wanting to overcomplicate, but this definitely drastically oversimplifies. I’d say maybe 35% of US locations fit within the descriptions. I live just a few hours from Flourish Flower farm in the Piedmont. We most definitely get frost and the ground occasionally freezes. But our summer temps stay in the 90s and 100s for a good stretch. That means our climate doesn’t fit in any of these. There are also other considerations like average rainfall and humidity. Not in there. This is SUPER important for gardeners and, in particular, those who want to grow plants not native to their area. Something like snapdragons and celosia, for example. If you read this book, you’ll think both will do great where you live as long as you plant them outside at the right time in spring. But snapdragons will not do well in places with potentially warm springs and very hot summers. Celosia are the opposite. So while they may both be listed for zone 8, one will flourish in Washington state’s zone 8 (snapdragons) and the other will flourish in NC’s zone 8 (celosia). They’ll both struggle in the other.2) While full of gorgeous flower photos, none of them tell you what flowers you’re looking at. This is incredibly disappointing in a book about growing flowers. I can understand on Instagram or some other free content media, but you’ve just purchased the book. I’m an experienced gardener so knew a lot of them, but every time I saw some beauty I didn’t know, my eyes would automatically search for what it was. Super frustrating.3) The flower arranging section doesn’t tell you what flowers she’s using, just gives dozens of possibilities.4) The flower arranging section also doesn’t have enough photos of the process and the ones it does have don’t show the important steps. It’s tough to learn how to arrange flowers without step by step photos and without any idea of what flowers are in the few photos there are. The photos are beautiful, but not functional.Overall, though I learned a few good tips, and the photos are pretty, I wouldn’t recommend this book for folks really looking to learn.

Great information for starting a cut flower garden
I wanted some ideas on doing a cut flower allotment and this book gave me some useful tips on doing this. Additionally the range and names of dahlias that would be good for this. Great photos of some beautiful plants. Would have preferred a hard copy rather that kindle so I could flip through easier and enjoy the photos to compare colours of the dahlias.

Sadly disappointed
As someone who follows this lady on Instagram (and loves her post there) I was so disappointed by this book. The images are very poor quality / pixelated and look like something you’d print on your home printer; I really don’t understand how that has happened, and it is such a huge shame for a coffee table book such as this (and with a topic as visual as flowers). Moreover the information included in the text was just too basic for me. The ‘deep dive’ sections really weren’t very detailed either.I’m genuinely really disappointed I didn’t rate this more highly.
