Create Your Own Graphic Novel: A Guide for Kids: Write and Draw Your Own Book

I ordered this as an option for a ‘Comic Camp’ textbook/workbook I’ll be teaching this summer.. the organization I teach for ended up ordering a copy for each student and we will do the same next year! It’s the perfect Graphic Novel 101 book. I’d say ideal for ages 8-12 (or age 34 because it was also perfect for me).. lots of blank pages/panels of varying formats in the back of the book! Lots!!!

I bought this guidebook for my grandson, who is an excellent, excellent artist. He absolutely loves drawing, and this book has been a wonderful tool to help him continue his artistic skills with storytelling. It gives a clear structure and guidance for kids to write and illustrate their very own graphic novels, which really sparked his imagination. The layout is easy to follow and his creative juices started to flow freely. It’s fun, interactive, and gives kids the space to create something that feels truly their own. I do wish there was a little more instruction and inspiration on how to build ploys and characters—something for kids who are newer to writing stories. But overall, it’s a great creative outlet and I’m so glad I got this for him. He is having fun with it.

This book will definitely help the first-time writer or illustrator. Useful tips on how to create a graphic book or comic. The author/illustrator has a great sense of humor when he presents his suggestions. Nice layout templates.

My kiddo is obsessed with graphic novels and has used this book daily since getting it on Christmas. She is now drawing things independently in the comic style and loves referencing this book.

We got this for a graphic novel fan. 8 year old loved creating her own stories. Plenty of room to draw and write. Use colored pencils not markers as they bleed.

Perfect for my son who loves to read and write stories. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with!
