This quite long, would it still work if used a bit shorter and dangled over the end of the table to shorten it. Would it sit flat still? Thanks

I use our on the carpet and it works well if u want to use it on a table that is shorter i would depending how much longer than the table cut a bit off that does not have any of the important bits on it. But as I say it works on the floor.
