FenderAmerican Professional II Precision Bass, Black, Maple Fingerboard

Fender is the best I had the 5 string jazz and wanted to get a 4 string it is light an powerful wow~!

I'm mostly a guitar player but like to have a bass around the home studio for recording. I have a bass I bought many years ago when I joined a band as their bass player, and while it's OK, I've never especially loved the tone of it. I finally decided to treat myself and purchased the American Pro II P Bass. Having been stoked with my Pro II Tele, I figured that product line was a reliable choice.Oh man -- overall I'm totally thrilled with this bass! As a big fan of alt rock like The Pixies I've always wanted that Kim Deal-type bass sound -- thick and punchy but still clear and well defined. The Pro II P bass delivers! Even without any effects, going straight into my recording interface, it just sounds gorgeous and immediately inspiring. You know it's a good instrument when you aren't fighting with EQ to get a decent sound. This bass just has that certain mojo.I would love to give it a perfect five but there are some minor quibbles. Despite the frets being rolled, some of the edges are still a little jagged, whereas on my Pro II Tele they are absolutely perfect, so perhaps my expectations were especially high, here. Also, the volume and tone knobs on the Pro II P bass appear to be the same as those they used on their cheaper Mexican-made Player series guitars, not the nicer knobs on my Pro II Tele, so that was another very minor disappointment, though easily upgradeable if I decide it really bugs me that much.All in all though, this thing is a total beast! It has a good, reassuring weight to it without being too heavy, the neck feels awesome and mine arrived with a comfortable setup, though I might make some very minor adjustments to the action. Plus, the thing just looks sweet with the classic black finish and maple fretboard. This is exactly the bass I've always wanted and I highly reccommend it!
