ADHD and Dyslexia: Finally excited about reading
The media could not be loaded. My daughter hasn’t been formally diagnosed yet (still undergoing evaluation by psychologist) but per her teacher and our observations she is most likely is dyslexic and has ADHD. She cannot focus or find the interest in reading. She also started kindergarten in the middle of Covid and didn’t have a permanent teacher for the entire school year due to staffing shortages. Needless to say, in 2nd grade now, she is way behind at this point. We got her this. Since it is short stories with meaningful content, it allows her to receive instant gratification for getting answers correct. We got this last night and She literally would not stop. This morning before school she wanted to do at least one more card… I can’t believe it. She’s interested in reading. Thank the Lord.

Perfect for an indoor recess activity
I teach special education for 5/6th graders and they love doing these types of cards. Because I often work with very mixed ability groups, these are a great activity for students to do independently while I'm working with someone. I recommend these for teachers or parents who just want a little something 'extra' and fun for their kids.

fun while learning
my daughter loved that it cheered when she was right. it was funny to her to push the wrong one after being encouraged pushing the right answer. she loved it so much she begged to finish reading all the cards the first day

1 grade level back according to the updated lexiles
Priceless for remediation. The passages are interesting and each box is well levelled. With the new lexile levels, each box is one year lower though. So, 6th grade is actually at 5th grade lexiles now and so on. I entered the passages into the Lexile Analyzer and realized this. Still worth it. They just need to relabel the boxes and create a new one for the 6th grade.
