My old starter was giving me problems on my '07 Harley FXDB. Time for a new one. Read good things about DB Electric, decided to try one. Glad I did! The engine cranks over much easier with this starter than the old one ever did.

Take the time to verify that the starter your are ordering is the correct one for your make, model and year, and replacement is very easy. I had previously replaced the starter on my 2008 HD Road King Classic and the split rear exhaust complicated starter replace the. Not so on my 2011. The rear exhaust changed in 2009.

I've been through 2 of these starters within the last month, they look good, install no problem and crank the engine no problem how ever , after about 2 weeks on the first one filled up with primary oil and started leaking out from the housing and electrical stud so I figured ok, maybe I just got a defective one ,it happens right?So I order the replacement ,install it, runic for 6 days and today, bam! Same thing , filled up with primary oil and started leaking. 6 days.... 220 miles.. i don't think the internal seals are up to the task of standing up to the heat and vibration of a harley, it's true you get what you pay for, save your self the head ache and just spend the money on an all allballs or harley davidson starter. The weather is good next week and my bike is down for the next 4 days cause I cheaped out on a starter. Don't be like me .

2009 Ultra - factory one was almost toast. Did research & settled on the DB on Amazon. Nice price, unit was insta-pak cushioned in the box. Removed the air deflector on the right rear down tube, wiring, 2 bolts and unit was out. Cranks the best since I bought it in 2011. Hands down, the right choice. Came w/ a full sheet of testing results too.

I wanted 5 years . I ended up with 1 year and 10 months. It worked until it didn't.

This starter arrived in a couple days. It looks good and does what it is supposed to. I have been using it for a couple months now. I have used other DB Electrical Products and had good luck with them. The Chrome end cap on my old starter would not transfer to the new one, but that is of little importance to me, I just want my motorcycle to start when it should.

The bike starts better, every time, but now the bike is leaking primary oil through the starter. This is a new problem that I have to buy a new starter clutch assembly to fix the leak

Price is okay, feels a little weak.

Great product it starts my bike quicker then the Harley one I had on it. The only thing is I had to cut the power bolt a 1/4” to get it into my frame of my bike.

Great price and works well. I never put the Crome cover back , but with a little work it could have been done.

I bought it last year. Installed it. I had a major oil leak start soon after. Never thought about the starter. Dealt with the oil as the troubleshooting went on. Ended up the o-ring was too small. Oil was blowing by the starter covering it and everything else and eventually filling it with oil causing failure. Took it to a mechanic when it started, they said I had 4 leaks in the engine and 2 in the transmission. I changed the starter last week and it doesn't lose a drop!! Thanks for a year of crap and aggrevation! Talked to Amazon, said have to deal with manufacturers not Amazon. I'm sure they'll say the same thing!! Anyways...avoid this garbage.If you're the manufacturer, contact me, make it right and I'll delete the review. Have a great day Everyone!
