It’s hard to go wrong with a simple double boiler like this, but i can confirm it works well and cleans easily.Since all you really need is a pot that fits in another pot and doesn’t fall in (check and check), I am going to offer a tip: Get good chocolate!I made the mistake of picking up some Ghirardelli White Chocolate Chips and deeply regretted it. Make sure there’s quality ingredients (like actual cocoa butter). At first I thought I overheated the chocolate, but actually the chips had the same problems. I was going for cardamom white chocolate if you’re curious. The flavor was good but the texture of those chips was unpleasant.Tip 2: Don’t overheat! Chocolate melts in your hand, so you really don’t need the water to be very hot. Yes, it will melt more slowly, but for best results you should avoid letting the melt exceed a certain temp (varies by type of chocolate with white being the most delicate). If you want really beautiful, shiny chocolate, look up how to temper it. It’s not super hard and it looks much nicer.

This is so handy for melting chocolate, reheating small amount of cream sauces, and it fits on any small saucepan. A silicone teacup cover works to keep heat in.

I have used this repeatedly for making chocolates and am very pleased with the quality of the product. It is sturdy, easy to clean and jut works as expected. The handle covering means no burned hands and the included spatula is just the right size to work with the bowl.

This was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. I think if I had do overs I would certainly go with some of the bigger models I saw. It works ok for melting small quantities of product but not as much as I need. So I would not repurchase this item again. So know what you exactly want to melt and quantity before you purchase this one.Becky

I looked at a lot of these before buying this one, and I'm glad I did! It works really well, doesn't scratch my ceramic saucepan when I use it, and it s good size for what I need it for! It is a small bowl, maybe 5 in across max, so if you need a bigger one keep that in mind! I use it to infuse oil and make gummies, and it has worked excellently every time! (20+ times so far!) The handle keeps it easy to pick up, and does not melt when touching the pan like I saw in somme reviews for other double boiler inserts. Over all, great buy and will continue to use!

I really liked this for using to make lotion bars the only thing that was weard was it came really durty and had to wash it 2 time so it would stop turning my towel black

Works for any small/medium pot. The handle is long enough so you don't burn your hands and it's sturdy enough for stirring while still over the pot of boiling water. Very easy to clean and doesn't take up any room to store away. Great purchase!

I probably should have checked but this arrived and I was surprised at the size. Otherwise it works well and I have been using it for candle making.
