I ordered this and it came faster than I expected. I immediately put it to work. Only issue is the erasers aren’t that great but they did leave a note saying to use soap and water. I would also suggest using a de-greaser like what you have would use on dishes. I mistakenly used a Brillo pad and scraped a bit of the marks but it was an easy fix with a permanent marker (sharpee marker). Other than the issues on erasing I say this is a great product and I use it for my productions.

This clapboard kit works wonderfully! It's easy to write on, and the clapper sound is clean and snappy. The only minor issue was that the dry erase marker didn’t fully come off between shoots, but we simply replaced it for the next project. Absolutely worth it for the quality and performance!

The other reviews are accurate: the provided markers do not erase off the slate very well and leave a smudgy mess. I simply bought some regular Expo dry erase markers and they work just fine!

I bought this as a gift for a friend and they loved it! It came with everything a director needs in a clapboard, and it being a whiteboard made it much easier to use. I've seen other clapboards that use chalk or something similar, but this one was definitely better. Overall it was a great buy for what I paid for it, and it came with everything you'd need and spares whiteboard makers which are always good to have!

This clapboard did not work for our needs. After our last clapboard finally gave out (after a number of years of usage) and I decided to try to save a little bit of money on the next set. Boy was that a mistake.The hardware came loose after 3 scenes and had to be tightened. We had to continue to tighten the screw after every 2-3 scenes which was a little bit of a pain. While this is annoying, it was manageable for the day and after some loc-tite on the screw, it held up together fairly nicely.The main issue is that the thing will NOT erase. You can use the included markers and it won't erase. You can use high quality dry erase markers, and it will not erase. You can douse a rag with rubbing alcohol and it will not erase. You can use dry erase cleaner and guess what? Right. It. will. not. erase. After half a day of shooting you could no longer see the markings because it was so darkened from previous erase attempts thus defeating the purpose of the board all together. We had to put white tape on the squares and go from there. Very disappointing.Save yourself the headache and spend a little more on a higher-quality clapboard.

This clapboard is not a high-tech item. But, for a simple item like this you should (would) still expect one of its primary features to function. The issue is the whiteboard does not erase easily.One of the first tests anyone would try after clapping the board... is writing on it with the included dry-erase markers. The marker proved its worth and worked OK. However, when the same marker's own eraser was used to erase - it removed about 50% and left dark gray letters behind. Moving to a soft cloth did not improve the erasing function. Adding a dab of water - nope. A drop of isopropyl alcohol and that same soft cloth... nope. What finally worked was *excessive* force bearing down on the cloth rubbing over and over - like Lady Macbeth might use.Not ideal for a production (student or professional) environment - where quick changes are needed with little effort. Chalk boards may be a better investment over this solution.

This clapboard played a crucial part of a music video & also promo content for social media. I think it was well worth the money because it worked exactly like I thought it would and it also helped add some liveliness to the environment

The pens provided WILL NOT COME OFF! I got mine off with methylated spirits and it’s now fine with a proper whiteboard penAside from this, good item, comes with an Allan key if the hinge starts to get loose.

Does what its ment to doVery nice acrylic finish makes it easy to erase the info from the board.Magnetic dots allow a better clap and prevents it from opening easily when not in ise

I used the slate for the first day with their marker, which is hard to clean. Now it has marks everywhere and is not usable. I used several dry-erase markers and none of them worked! Waste of money, spend more money to get a better one.

i find this to not be very well built and it works well enough to get started with, but if you shoot a lot of videos it will constantly loosen the screws and some of the titles are starting to fade. I got this in January of 2023 and in March it's showing this much wear?
