Hawkins Contura 5 Liters Hard Anodized Pressure Cooker

This is the best cooker I have used both on terms of functionality and looks. Its super quick as well. The wide bottom and mouth makes it efficient for other types of cooking as well. Its easier to clean (almost like non-sticky pans). I have been using it almost an year and it still looks brand new. I just love it.

I'm not as happy with this 5-liter Contura as I am with the 3-liter one that I reviewed earlier. In the larger size, I seem to find a general impression of reduced quality. The main problem is that the bottom of this 5-liter Contura is not flat enough to work well on my glass-top electric stove. The cooker "rocks and rolls" on my electric stovetop --only a small portion of the cooker bottom actually makes direct contact with the flat glass of the stovetop. Other parts of the cooker, such as the pressure regulator ... well they just don't seem to fit as nicely and tightly and cleanly as they do on my smaller Contura cooker.

I got a cheaper inferior aluminum version from seller. You might also and run into issues like return/exchange.I already have four Hawkins Hard Anodized Pressure cookers and one steel pressure cooker in home in different sizes and I exactly know what it (Hawkins Contura 5 Liters Hard Anodized) is. If you get genuine, it is a good product. The "Hard Anodized" is done to remove aluminum toxicity.If I could get genuine product from seller, I'll update my review.Update:============Finally, I got replacement and it is genuine product.I don't have any problem with genuine Hawkins Hard Anodized Pressure Cooker. We have been using since decades. I feel it to be best pressure cooker. What it does to soaked black beans in 40 minutes, the "Instant Pot IP-DUO60 7-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker" can not do in 80 minutes.This review is still rated three to make buyer aware to get genuine stuff only.

Very nice. Quality of the product is really gud.

I am used to pressure cookers, very familiar with them, I used them to cook almost everything, rice,meat,everything since always,but this one is a weird awful one, stay silent for several minutes and then explodes through the valve in a very unexpected scary way that makes me feel not safe using it. I dont recommend it at all.

Capacity wise it’s good for cooking for 4-5 people at at a time

i ordered my new hawkins Contura 5.0 Ltr from Amazon , which arrived in 4-5 days . I already had 3.5 Ltr Hawkins futura since my bachelor days....but my wife found it bit small.....so e decided to buy Contura 5.0 Ltr.My initial reaction was that i find it bit lightweight compared to even futura 3.5 ltr . My wife quickly put it to test and we had nothing to complain about . Although i would have liked it with a bit heavier base , but other than that i loved it.
