ERB 19281 S268 Hi-Viability Mesh Neck Shield, Fluorescent Lime

Awesome product i work for a cable company as a maintenance technician so i am always outside in the sun. This thing covers the whole back of your neck and keeps it cool. I like this design for two reason 1 its the same as our safety vest so no issues with our safety guy and 2 it goes around the brim of your hardhat so sweat wont get on it. I have owned other versions and they strap onto the inside of your hardhat which is cool because it wont fall off but when you sweat it just soaks it up which is nasty when you have to put it back on after a while that you have had it off. The only downside is that it can get stuck on something and it will come right off but to be honest I'm not sure if will want it to stay on if it does get stuck to a branch or wire there goes my neck or hardhat.

My Husband works for the Department of Transportation here in Wyoming. He is out in the sun all day long whether that be mending fence a long the highway, fixing the road, picking up trash, or doing some sort of construction project. After about a month of him being in the sun with no protection and him refusing to wear sunscreen I bought this for him to help keep his neck covered.Though this is a mesh material it still does the job, he isn't getting burned anymore and his neck stays covered and out of the sun. This is bright enough and reflective enough that it meets the DOT requirements here. He says it fits inside his hard hat nicely and feels great on him. My husband likes it so therefore I like it as well. No more sunburns which is FANTASTIC!!

This ERB neck shade fits my MSA full brim hardhat perfectly. Hardhats are, for the most part, universal. However, this neck shade is special. It's super light weight, but the reflective striping on the bottom portion weighs it down just enough so that it stays where you put it. I do find myself flipping the shade back off my shoulders like a woman would her hair, but that's a minor annoyance and not enough to dock even one star. The mesh material allows breezes to get through while still giving enough shade to keep the sun off your neck. This will be going with me on every project in the heat! One thing to be aware of, if you're walking with your head down in brush, you might snag the elastic and pull it off the brim, but that has yet to happen to me.

The neck sun shield does exactly what it's suppose to do. For six bucks though, I'd rather cut up an old vest of the same type of material (mesh) and get better coverage. The sun shield is held in place by an elastic band and if you are using full brim (safari style) hard hats, the band will stretch out to the max. If you use the baseball style hard hats, you'll save some elasticity. If you switch between different style hats, don't expect this to last too long. I'd recommend securing it to the inside of the hard hat such as the sweat liner or plastic support structure inside the hard hat. This will let the band last longer and won't stretch it out so much, while still providing your neck and ears with some relief.

Perfect fit for my full brim V top hard hat, it stays in place and offers great protection from UV light and moderate weather. The high visibility orange meets all DOT requirements and as a plus you may spray a Dose of Deet insect repellant for that extra added protection from insects without damaging the material. I sprayed the material with a little H2O and I stayed cool during the hottest part of the day. The personnel on my crew all asked where they could get one. Don't wait for some dull sticker to put on your hard hat, ask your safety man for something that is made to keep you productive and happy :-)

Works as intended. Just strap the elastic bit around the edge of the brim and you're good to go. This was used on an oval style hard hat so I can't comment on how it works for a full brim style. It does as intended...it covers your neck from the sun...and it's cheap. If keeping your head out of the sun is your primary directive, there are smarter options out there such as Chill Its 6660 Hard Hat Brim with Shade...which provides shade to your face an neck.

I bought this to get relief from the sun on a tree-less jobsite and it worked in protecting against sunburns. I also found that 1 layer of sunscreen on your neck under the shade sunburn proof, which was not the case before. I recommend it to all of my buddies. The only thing I don't like is sometimes it can slip off the rim and then you have to reinstall it on the hardhat but that doesn't happen while working.

I don't know why I've never gotten one of these before. Easy and effective way to share your neck, but still allow it to breath. My one complaint is the elastic is a little too stretchy and it can come off easily if you're grabbing your hard hat quickly or without looking at it. Dislike : it has to go around your hardhat rather than having clips or straps to hook to the band.Like: it help keep the sun off the neck.
