A must own for any drummer
I cannot talk about how much I love this thing. It works in tight spaces, it's quite, it's simple and it's effective. In the package it gives you enough pads to practice on a simple small setup. Like a 4 piece kit with a ride cymbal. Personally I customized the setup and added other hardware such as a high hat stand, a boom and a straight stand to hold plastic practice cymbals to closer match my current setup. By adding my own practice cymbals it frees up the kit to utilize a 5 piece setup. It's such a small footprint I set it up in green rooms, backstage, on the street and even in the hallway of a tour bus. This thing has allowed me to practice everyday without bothering the neighbors, day or night. It has been one of the best tools I've ever owned as a pro drummer. But not just for the pros, I suggest this to anyone, beginner, pros, teachers and students. Obviously it's better to learn on an actual drum kit but if you can't or can't afford an electronic kit to practice on. This was a god send for me. Great quality, great design and very well planned out piece of gear. If you're a drummer you need this.

Fantastic practice oriented fill in for a kit
I can't have a drum set at home so this pad set is great for preparing to practice on the drum kit in an equipped drum studio. The hardware is solid and versatile, and pads have good rebound. So much better than cobbling together one or two practice pads to emulate snare, cymbals, toms, etc. Set up isn't necessarily exact to that of a complete drum kit, but there's proximity enough. The addition of a kick pad is critical! Again, this practice pad assemblage is not about developing musicality for the drummer (although it could be another instrument by some terms!), but it does help with coordination, independence, and timing. I wish that I could purchase an additional arm or two. I am trying to master the jazz idiom these days, so I also use a pie tin on the floor to stand in for the pocket (high hat). A little ingenuity applied to this set up will serve you well.

It's been a good purchase for me while traveling.
This has been a perfect purchase for me. It fits under our RV bed easily and gives me a way to practice while traveling. It's good quality, not silent but not too loud. It feels like practice pads, not drum heads, of course. Decent value for the money.

Sturdy, Compact, Basic
Although it takes a few practice sessions to get comfortable playing on, this setup is worth the effort. I live in a house that is divided into apartments. I could never have my actual drum set here, so I purchased this. My favorite thing about it is how compact it is. I can carry it from room to room with one hand, and my sticks in my other. The adjustments are a little minimal, but I have had no problem getting them as close as possible to my taste, and then just getting used to it. Some people complain about the lack of pads, but this is plenty for me. All my lessons were on a 50 year old version of this, and it works just fine for learning 4-way independence and stick control. People have also mentioned that the pads come loose when playing. I have not had this happen once.Pros:CompactGood BounceQuietPriceCons:Takes a bit to adjust to feelMy sticks make a squeak sound on the brand new pads. Like sneakers on a basketball court.Limited adjustmentsCrappy assembling instructions.

Great Practice Set to reduce the possibility of pissing the people around you off
I got this practice set to start playing the drums again, I have a full size kit at my parents house but have not taken it with me due to its size, and mainly, the volume. This has been a great fit - it still makes noise of course, if you have played on a practice pad you know that they can still be noisy but this is a big reduction. I have it set up with the cymbals with mutes from my full kit and it plays just like a full kit. Seems very durable, and was easy to set up. It has been a great addition and now I can practice without having the whole neighborhood critique my timing.

Practice Solution for Apartment Dwellers
I enhanced the DW Smart Practice rig with the Pintech five-piece practice cymbal kit (mounted on my original cymbal hardware), further deadened the sound of the whole lot with Vic Firth mutes, and rubber banded an old doubled-up sock to the bass drum pad (two thick-a** bands on either end of the sock) to complete the assembly. Yes, I was able to operate my Tama double kick pedal with plenty of space to spare on the bass drum pad. Wish I had considered this apartment-friendly solution years ago. Oh, by the way, to fit my existing bass pedal more snugly to the rig, I just doubled up a piece of cardboard and wedged that glorious mother f***er right in there. Beautiful. Let's rock.

Makes practicing drums so easy
This is my sons go to practice kit. He will be attending Berklee school of music and great for an apartment. So much better than just a pad. Would definitely buy again
